Do lottery systems really work?
I looked at the Powerball website under Frequently Asked Questions and this is what they said regarding chances of winning. IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING?How do you react to all the people out there making money off 'systems' that supposedly increase one's chances of winning the lotto? I've had enough mathematics/probability to realize that wheeling and any other strategy will not increase the expected value of a ticket and that you can expect to take in the same profits if everyone did follow

Lottery KENO (daily or 5-minute)
As if there aren't enough Quick Draw games in a day now. Currently 158 games are played over a course of 13 hours. Reducing the time between games to 4 minutes will increase the number of games from 158 to 197, almost a 25% increase. The only thing I don't care for with the Quick Draw game is that the odds for each of the games are not presented. Only what they call the Overall odds for each of the spot games. ie, the 10 spot game has 7 prize levels to play, pick 10 of 10, 9 of 10, 8 of 10, 7

A Note About the Lottery Theory
To date 410 people have order the lottery theory and 2 people have asked for refunds. One person even posted something on this site. As stated in the offer, the item is guaranteed and you will get a refund if requested in 30 days. However, if you understand statistics and read the theory, your chances will increase on average 5000%. That is what the theory does. However, most people are resigned to playing hot or sentimental numbers and for those people I cannot help you. I also do not know

Multiple increases yield massive $610 million Powerball jackpot
Higher-than-predicted lottery sales boost both major multi-state jackpots
By Kate Northrop
Today, multiple state lotteries announced increases for both the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots driven by higher-than-normal lottery ticket sales.
Thanks to the excitement around the Powerball jackpot that continues to swell with each consecutive rollover, the jackpot amount for the Wed., Jan 5, 2022 Powerball drawing has grown to a whopping $610 million.
The last time a Powerball j

Are you playing Mega Millions with the $5.00 per play?
Inflation affects the cost of operating the game,
Inflation also affects state budgets that are partially funded by lotteries. Inflation itself isn't a direct reason for the price increase. Decreasing lottery revenue and efforts to prop it up are the reason, so inflation is an indirect cause.
Of course the flip side of that coin is that most players do account for the price/risk of a bet to some degree. Here's the revenue for the first 5 drawings of the last 3 MM runs (current run on le

$875 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges on rollover
They botched that for sure......over estimated...
As near as I can tell they're outright lying to us. Sales being a lot less than their forecast is one thing, but somewhere around noon on Friday (Todd posted about it at 12:39PM), after they had a day and a half of ticket sales to dial things in they claimed that the cash value had gone up by several million dollars. Not only did they do that when sales should have made it obvious that they were going to come up short, they did it while stil

Michigan Lottery warns public about increase in prize scams during coronavirus outbreak
The Michigan Lottery is warning the public about a scam in which people are told they've won a big prize but need to pay a fee or provide sensitive personal information to collect it.
The scam works like this: A person gets a letter, email, or phone call to inform them that they've won a big lottery prize but must pay a fee or provide sensitive personal information to collect the prize.
If the person agrees to pay a fee, the scam artist convinces them to mail a cashier's check, make an ele

computer drawiings
If they did, then the % of lottery revenue paid out as prizes would be quite low.
That would be true for a few games, such as pick 3 and pick 4, but for most games the jackpot just keeps growing until somebody wins. That means that the percentage of revenue that's paid out through the jackpot is determined by the rules of the game rather than how often somebody wins the jackpot. Of course there would be a benefit to the lottery if they postponed the winning of the jackpot, since sales incre

NH Lottery may increase storeowners' lottery bonus
If someone walks into a New Hampshire corner store and walks away with a $160 million lottery ticket, the store owner's takeaway is capped at $30,000, the lowest such retail lottery cap in the United States.
The NH Lottery Commission would like to increase that possible retail jackpot to $75,000, a 150 percent raise, although it would still lag behind Massachusetts's $100,000.
Not that that those jackpot happen very often, mind you. A $3 million or more hit enough to reach that cap only st

How soon till the next $ Billion $ Jackpot?
I never said it was the draw directly before this one.
I was referring to the draw of Jan 30 where the annuity jackpot was increased from $75 mil to $96 mil.
96 75 = 1.28 hence the increase of 28%
112 96 = 1.167 (16.7%)
136 112 = 1.2143 (21.43%)
157 136 = 1.1544 (15.44%)
176 157 = 1.1210 (12.10%)
On the average, the past few drawing have increased between 12% - 21%
Using approx 15.33% as a median increase.... the annuity jackpot will reach $1 bil in approx 12 - 13 draws (
