Colorado man who unwittingly split a $4.8M jackpot with scammer is fighting the Colorado Lottery
Tiptons @ it again! After all these years I say cut your losses, enjoy your over $500K prize and get on with your life. Though he MAY have been an unwittingly participant in that Tipton mess, I don't foresee him gaining anything and his Attorney getting richer. IDK.

Powerball winner-turned lawmaker opposes anonymity for lottery prizewinners
Interesting post. In one hand they have Tipton who is a poster boy for transparency and in the other they have a jackpot winner from 7 years ago that is still being hit up for donations . MM and PB winning jackpots are few and far between and with 44 jurisdictions, some haven't had a winner, if any in years so we can't really blame they for wanting a jackpot winners story. If it comes down to a compromise and if I had a vote, it would be for very limited transparency only giving the name o

Powerball winner-turned lawmaker opposes anonymity for lottery prizewinners
Each State is different. I understand State Representative Brian Lohse's position. Iowa's history with the largest lottery scam. Eddie Tipton is in prison. Rep. Lohse's comments about still being hit up for donations and gifts is revealing. Even seven years after their win. I will find a third party to say, NO to the beggars kindly.

What if a person wins Powerball & Mega Millions !!
I actually thought about this when both JPs were going neck and neck at $500 million apiece. But I think they'd assume that this was another Tipton situation. The odds are so great that they'd probably assume there was some rigging going on. Both lotteries have their own investigators and are fairly closed-mouth about what they check for. We've only found out some things after an investigation has been forced to go public. Do a Google search on the articles printed after a lottery scammer ha

NM Lottery Pick 4 computerized drawing glitch made many tickets worthless
Though not even remotely related to Tipton, his name came to mind. He would never waste his time on 'small time lotteries' like that if he were a free man. At least the NM is saving face and doing the right thing by reimbursing losing tickets versus others who just say 'oh well'. Wish that Indiana would put mechanical balls in Hoosier Lotto and Cash 5. Are they still televising the pick 3 or pick4 drawings or just live streaming like many other states do?? Good luck everyone in the

Reading comprehension 101. Did I say that person kept pre-drawing every day until they hit 5 numbers? 1 or 2 pre-draws every day could yield a 3, 4 or 5 number hit after a certain number of days. The odds in hitting 3 numbers are 1:15, that would pay for the tickets. 4 or 5 hits would be a huge payday. Not so fantastic is it? Don't you think 41 5/6 tickets sold in one day is unusual? And you want to talk about nutty idea's? How about some computer security guy feeding a program into the RNG

Iowa lottery lawsuit granted class action, affecting 7.2 million tickets in 19 states
One of the required elements in a lawsuit asking for damages is being able to prove the damages. Dawson's problem is that he can't prove that he would have gotten all the money if it weren't for Tipton. It might be unfair not to give him something, but the law doesn't always do what's fair. OTOH, all the people who lost in the rigged drawings can prove that their chance of winning was probably reduced to zero (Tipton's scheme allowed a couple of hundred possible combinations, so a few players

Bill to allow lottery winners to remain anonymous passes Virginia Senate
They need to release the winners names because the State or their own workers might start crooking the system. It's theoretically possible, but conspiracies of that sort rarely happen outside of the movies. Even with lousy security protocols of the sort that let Eddie Tipton scam the lottery pretending there was a winner when there really wasn't would have to involve several people. Besides everybody keeping the secret, simply sharing the money would create a risk of exposure. Somebody has

how could the computer find patterns in a lottery?
I'm certainly glad that you cleaned this up from your last post, bobby. None of those people outside of the ball painters and the Tipton Mob did anything illegal otherwise there would've been charges and jail time. Players that have the money, the knowledge, and the logistics find ways to make money in lottery games and have been doing it for decades. It was only after what happened in Virginia did lawmakers begin seriously looking at ways to prevent or discourage those with the money, knowledge

I am doing a follow up letter with other points, the Tipton scam is one such question. Also, where on the web site do they TELL US regarding pre-draws, do we have the RIGHT to know? and, they said...... a pre-draw . Does this mean only ONE? Jon
