Ohio Lottery opposes state audit
The Ohio Lottery Commission has formally rejected State Auditor Mary Taylor's decision to launch a performance audit of the $2.4 billion agency without its blessing.
Lottery Director Kathleen Burke said in a letter Saturday that the audit does not seem reasonable, necessary or a wise investment of public funds.
Taylor's office notified the commission last week that it was beginning a performance audit, citing the uncertain nature of gambling revenue from month to month and an environment

Lottery hoax causes riot at Ohio coat store
Floyd,
You said that people aren't asking the government to make anyone else pay their bills; that they just want them to provide another service. OK, given the fact that the government doesn't have any money other than that they confiscate from other people; who then is going to pay for this service?
The Constitution was written in a way to be a constraint on federal power. The founders knew the wiles of despotism and tyranny. They wanted to ensure that future generations weren't subject

AR Lottery spokesperson: Wrong salary set for security chief because of Web page error
Arkansas lottery spokesperson Julie Baldridge claimed Wednesday that Grant County Sheriff Lance Huey was hired at what lottery staff members believed was the midpoint salary grade because a state Web site listed the salary as such.
Huey was hired to serve as the lottery's director of security at a salary of $115,644, which Baldridge said actually is the peak of the salary range for the position. Baldridge said the position and salary was listed on the website of the state's Department of Fina

Prop 1C would change the California Lottery
Voting 'Yes' will allow lottery to create larger prize payouts
On May 19, California voters will have a chance to change the state lottery for the first time since it started in 1984.

Lottery payment to educational institutions would end and the state general fund would increase its payments to schools to make up for the loss of lottery funds.

The California lottery disclosed Saturday night it was using emergency, backup electricity generators indefinitely to run online gambling and other games statewide due to a power outage.

Lottery dream shattered for N.C. couple
Is this an alternate reality? You gotta be kidding me. There is a barcode on the back of the ticket that is scannable ANYWHERE (in the state played). As a matter of coincidence I walked in behind a 1 million dollar scratcher winner going to play my numbers Wednesday night. How did we know? Just like every scratchey winner the clerk scrathes off to reveal the number code, which they key and then scan the barcode into the terminal and it verifies the prize with a print out. The print out said
