Grrrrr
But let's not kid ourselves, Raven. What is the reason lotteries such as PB or MM were started? To create huge, eye-catching jackpots. If I wanted a meager jackpot, I could focus my attention to the state Classic Lotto. The jackpots are meager by comparison, but that is expected. Not so for the MM. Nobody is kidding anyone here. The reason we play a multistate lottery over the classic state lotteries is because of dreams of a big payout. It is equally frustrating because of the economic do

Van Michaels: "The top 5 lotto mistakes"
Ohio did have a 6/40 game from 04/09/83 to 04/18/87 that was only played once a week until 10/10/84 when they added the Wednesday drawings. If only I had the software then that I have today. For example, with that game 50% of the all winning combo had six numbers that had hit 1-4 times in the previous 18 drawings. I could have reduced the number pool to 28-38 numbers each drawing and had a 42.6% chance of matching all six winning numbers or a 99% chance of matching three numbers or better. At

Do you have the "FEELING" that you'll win or just the "HOPE"?
Hi, GamerMom! Since you quoted my post, I assume you were responding to what I wrote. I agree the 5/6 would be great, but I was responding to the general attitude on the board about what a jackpot is and that's usually at least $1 million. I was thinking of PB and/or MM. Of course I'd be happy winning $3M. That's usually about $1.6M cash less tax. I'd be happy splitting it too! I was only guessing about the 8 or 9 winners, since I think I've read that's the average per year for PB or MM, but

Powerball lottery jackpot hits $200 million
KY Floyd: If you aren't going to play regularly the sensible strategy would be to make your occasional plays when the jackpot is high. Even for a regular player, the sensible choice would be to concentrate your plays on higher jackpots. I just did a thought-provoking calculation. It's based on the Pick 3, but applies to any lottery. Your chance of winning is better if you buy 10 tickets for a single drawing than if you spend the same money buying a single ticket for each of 10 drawings. So

what game does your state NOT have that you wish they did?
I think Michigan should drop out of the Mega Mill and just have a 6/46 $2 game and go back to ball drawings. It takes months for the classic 47 to build to a decent level and it might go 3 times a year...boring. While Michigan has been a member of megamillions for 11 years now there has been only one Jackpot winner that was outside the Southeast Michigan area and that was in Traverse City...all other Michigan winners have been in the Southeast corner of the state...boring. Why

The Implications of Cracking the Code..
You know what i think, will break the state (and i think the lottery knows this), what will break the state is LP and lottery Dna but in the form of a lottery channel with its predictors, commentaries and advices on how to play the lottery...LP and lottery DNA exactly the way it is but in the form of a LOTTERY CHANNEL...Not just any tv channel But it will have to be a major cable TV channel with the power that HBO channel has.. Provided the lottery didn't change the numbers at the last minute

Vermont Lottery announces largest Megabucks jackpot in 14 years
The Megabucks prize for Wednesday's draw has surpassed recent record levels, with a current (annuitized) jackpot of $8,900.000. The last time the Megabucks jackpot exceeded $8.9 million was 14 years ago in July of 1993. Between December 2006 and January 2007, Vermont had three Megabucks winners in a row, winning jackpots of $500,000, $950,000 and $4.5 million. To date, there have been 75 winning Megabucks jackpot tickets sold in Vermont since the game began in 1985. The highest jackpot t

Jackpots
I would rather have a small jackpot like 5 million than a large one like $100 million. 1) It would help me control spending. 2) Less people asking for handouts. Saying No is easier. 3) Live off the interest. ( Cds, moneymarket, saving account and government bonds) Avoid high risk investments 4) Buy a modest 2 bedroom condo. Go traveling a few times a year. 5) Not worry about my personal safety. What do you guys think?
