On the heels of a near record $364 Million jackpot, probably won by just one person, the wind was sucked out of many people's sails. I think it will take another 4-6 drawings to pick up the pace again. At $2 a ticket, there were many lotto wannabee's that slapped down hundreds to have a shot at their dreams. Takes time to get over that post lottery depression. $50 Million is still a STAGGERING amount of cash!!! I will always play regardless of the size.

You honestly think that after doubling the military budget, we can find NO room to scale back? There's no waste? I understand that the Federal Government's most important role is to defend the country, but there's LOTS of room for cuts in the military budget. It doesn't matter how fast or slow it rolls. What matters is the odds and how much goes towards the jackpot from each ticket. The odds are essentially the same for both games, but each PB ticket puts about twice as much money in the jackpot. I really think the reason for the change is because both big games are available in almost all states now, and before the change they were basically the same game. MUSL does't make more money, directly, due to the increased ticket price. MUSL and the states make more money if there's more revenue, but if you don't want to pay the higher price, Mega Millions has a history of even bigger jackpots (and higher cash values).
