Lottery win bad news for gas station employees
Thank you Todd that is what I was saying. I don't see how firing the employees at this time was a good thing.
I don't know the employees, so I can't say whether I would trust them or not. But if they were so bad to begin with, they should have been fired earlier. It just stinks to fire them after the owners came into some money. It makes me wonder if the employees have a case for wrongful termination. Again, I am not saying the employees deserved any of the money, but it sure doesn't seem lik

so would you tell your boss why you were quitting your job
Very cute! Love it.
I like what Chippie wrote. If you've worked with/for people you've grown to like respect, you can't just walk out on them. However, if your boss was a creep and your co-workers were nasty, I'd suggest calling on Mon to say There was a family emergency over the weekend I have to leave the state! In most cases, waiting 2 weeks to cash in a ticket won't kill anyone. I definitely would NOT want to stay at a job after winning a large jackpot. Look what happened to that do

Lottery-winning doorman gets the girl but might lose job
I see nothing but bad things happening for this guy. It's ONLY $5 million. I don't recall if you can receive a lump sum or not with this type of game/win. At this rate, I hope not. He's sounding a little full of himself and when the money is gone, he's going to want that job back.
He's been there 6 years and now all of a sudden the rules are too rigid and he wants to buck the system. Nah... the money's not going to his head at all. *heavy sarcasm* Not to mention having won $5 mil and wanting

Surprise $1,000,000 in your Bank Account
I would definitely let the Bank and the Feds know. This kind of mistake is ridiculous! Now, I agree with JustExploring, here, if I found some money, different story. Nobody claimed it. unmarked, etc., it is my blessing!
I received a Canadian Scam letter and just for the heck of it, took it to the bank it was drawn on. No way was I about to deposit it in my account! I knew better. It was so funny, the teller wanted me to put it in my account, I said no, I never cash checks using my own account

Can My Comapny Sue us For the Winnings?
I don't think they can sue you for any of the money but speaking from personal experience I can tell you that using company email for any other purpose than company business is grounds for termination.
I worked for Ford Motor Credit and used the company email to chat back and forth with coworkers on other floors. Well one day we were gossiping about the call center manager and somehow HR got wind of it. All of a sudden I was sent home for 3day on paid leave. When I was called to come back in

Can My Comapny Sue us For the Winnings?
I am not a lawyer, but I do not think the company has any claim at all on your lottery pool winnings.
What they do have control over is use of company owned assets like email and scanning equipment. They cannot stake a claim on the winnings, but they can fire you for misuse of company property. The email system is company owned and you using it for personal use is not really acceptable. There are probably many precedents that would further impede a case, especially if many people at your comp

Tenn. lawmakers trying to force lottery to switch back to real draws
I was happy to read that the Tennessee legislature has introduced a bill to bring back the ball system. I think Rebecca Hargrove should be fired immediately. I live in Alabama and I have stopped playing the Tenn. Lottery and started driving back to Georgia to play their lottery because I can trust their lottery system.
I'm glad you're returning to the ball system so I don't have to drive so far to play an honest lottery game.
I have a question though, how come the Tenn. Legislature c
