Shouldn't we want more computerized lottery systems?
You will have patterns in balls occasionaly, but that doesn't mean they're not random. The existence of patterns is also the existence of randomness.
Computers can be random as well and they can also have patterns (that are random), if done correctly. The problem is that there are lottery commissions out there that have it programmed into their computers that certain things cannot happen (as mentioned above with Tennessee).
Personally I wouldn't be alright with computerized drawings a

Bill dissolves Arkansas lottery panel
I think you should read my comments again. I did not say computerized drawings were a problem with internal controls . I indicated that it is symptomatic of poor judgement caused by a rushed implementation.

Bill dissolves Arkansas lottery panel
Many people may not like computerized drawings, but I doubt that's part of what he meant by problems with internal controls . Based on the article four legislatve comittees would be able to review things, but it says nothing about what they could actually do. It sounds like this could definitely increase legislative bureaucracy, but that's a lot different than having more oversight .

Georgia Jingle Jumbo Bucks-Again! 020-029
If Georgia ever starts computerized drawings, I will almost certainly quit playing their online games. I KNOW that it is possible to get a computer to do whatever you want it to. It would have to be unattached to the internet for it to be safe, and then how are they going to transmit the winners as fast? If the computer that is selecting the drawing has ever at any time in it's history been exposed to the internet, then there is a chance that someone could attach or remotely execute code which c

N.C. Lottery director quits
I am just hoping we will not get a director who is in to computerized drawings. Shaheen at least knew how important that was. Pick 3 is the most popular game in NC.

North Carolina: 8/1 - 8/31/2010
Harris Teeter does not sell lottery tickets. I am wondering if we will see good or bad changes in NC when Shaheen leaves in September. I sure hope the next director doesn't get in to computerized drawings.

Does anyone else find it odd...
The lottery office says it is to ensure that there are no malfunctions and we all know that Tennessee never ever malfunctions right? lol The people at the lottery office here don't care very much for me, need I say more. I was very frustrated with the computerized drawings and stopped playing as much, I cant help but feel there is some slight manipulation going on, ofcourse you cant prove it, not blatant just slight, I still play and hope to get lucky who knows right.
