Whats to be learned?
To CatYes the same trick can be done for jackpot games, but no big winners. For example in a 649 game which pays if you match 3, the odds of having a ticket that pays is 1:54 so if you pick 10 combinations and check some of the 649 game like Mass Million, Michigan Win Fall, N.J.Pick6, Lotto South MD Lotto,Ohio649P and etc you will probably have a good chance of matching 3 in one of them. Ohio doesn't pay any money for a match 3, but give you a QP. Maybe someone will start posting combinations

Whats to be learned?
WIN DIf you are talking about pick3 numbers, then there is no mystery. When you consider any form the number (boxed) a winner then there are only 220 possible combinations and your odds of winning are changed from 1:1000 to 1:220 (That the reason a boxed hit pays less). If you pick 20 different numbers then your odds of a hit is 1:11 for each drawing. Every weekday there are more than 45 pick3 drawings somewhere in the US, so the odds are any group of 20 numbers will hit 4-5 times somewhere

Lottery Systems Work Thomas Covenant
Personally I prefer to use a system to pick my numbers because I not only play to win, but for entertainment and there is nothing entertaining to me about picking a lot of QPs and losing. When I lose using my system, I enjoy trying to adjust it in hope of picking better combinations the next time. The chance to win a large sum of money make playing the lottery more fun, but I know only a few of the millions of players will win, so I'm not planning my future hoping to win. I think if you enjoy

WINFALL Numbers
I've checked both wheels using my Ohio649P and other 649 files and it appears that the $83 wheel cover only 90% of the numbers while $163 wheel cover all the numbers so far. In some cases as many as 5 or more combinations of threes were covered in one drawing. With the last payouts for a match 3 and a match 4 being so high in WINFALL, I'm sure there will be some Michigan betters willing to take a chance that those payouts will be high one more time. Good luck to them. I will only play the Oh

WINFALL Numbers
I checked the Michigan website and the guaranteed payout for a match 3 in WINFALL is $5. Ohio use to have a payout of $3 for match 3, but got rid of it when they went to a 6/49 format. At the time, they claimed players didn't collect such small winnings, but I think the changed was made to make more profit. Recently the game was changed and now a match 3 earns a free QP with the annunity option, so it will be interesting to see if any more changes are maded. I'm sure the thinking is bigger j

WINFALL Numbers
I'm checking that wheel to see if it is correct. I have two 6/49 wheels with all 49 numbers with a guarantee of a match 3. The one is 163 combinations and the other is 83 combinations. I copied them off the internet, maybe lotto-logix, but I can't find their source. If the smaller one is correct and the payout is still $70 for a match 3, a drive up to Michigan this weekend could pay for itself. I copied those wheels sometime back with no plans to ever use them because I could never imagine

Avoid Quick Picks
To Lottery Analyst and RJOh,Thank you both for the information you shared, I appreciate it. I must admit I do have fun playing. When the drawing is held or the results are posted I can't wait to see the numbers picked, sort of like a little kid who can't wait to open his birthday presents. If I could, I think I'd be analyzing numbers all day-- there's almost a lottery for every day of the week-- well not all day but you know what I mean! I usually try to play the one I've been able to spend some

Avoid Quick Picks
To Greg,I have a copy of Robert Serotic's book The Only Way to Win at Lotto and it's mostly a collections of 222 wheeling systems. He has a small section on other system such as dreams, numberology and astrology, but mostly he stresses using large wheeling systems as your best chance to win something. Most likely if you have a collection of books on playing the lottery, you will have a collection of wheeling systems. Since the printing of that book, I've read about software that will creat

Avoid Quick Picks
Hello Greg,Consider the following. If you buy only 1 QP, you won't repeat a number. If you pick your own numbers in a 6/49 game, you can only pick 8 sets of numbers before you have to repeat 5 numbers(49/6=8) and if you look at the history of the drawings, there's seldom a time when you have more than 3 drawings when a number hasn't appeared more than once. If you wheel your numbers, you intentionally play most of your numbers several time to have at least a minimum match. If you play more

Taxes on gambling winnings
Last year I matched 5 of 6 in OhioSuperLotoPlus for $1500 and 4 or 5 for in Buckeye5 twice for $250 and other $2 to $20 winning a number of times. I will have to list the $1500 on my tax returns because I had to fill out paper work to get it and the state sent me a W-2G form to file, but had I not won the $1500 I would not be compiling a list of my smaller winnings and losses for my tax returns because I don't think the government wants to know how much you lost unless you won enough to affec
