N.J. man claims $24.1M lottery jackpot just 2 days before expiration
WOW, the annuity...really ? Well at least the scammers will have a difficult time finding Jimmie Smith.

Anyone else hate that some states won't let winners remain anonymous?
Speaking of anonymity I crossed paths with Cynthia Stafford ($112 Mil Winner and movie producer) West of LA, but didn't bother her of course. I was visiting friends, driving from San Diego. That's all I will say. Anyway, I believe in California you don't have to disclose your identity. She should have taken that option along with the annuity. Has anyone on this board seen another past winner in person?

Hot Lotto replacement "Lotto America" rolls out in November
$2 million annuity is likely around $1.25 million cash. Less taxes and it's down to around $750 thousand, if that. 1 in 26 million odds is terrible for that amount. Of course, after a few roll-overs, the jackpot will be more worthwhile, especially being the base price is just a buck. All in all, doesn't seem overly exciting. Though, if it's ball draw verses RNG that would be a huge plus.

$650 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot skyrockets
I just hope someone that's young enough to take the annuity wins. That would be like being Tom Brady or A-Rod for the rest of your life. Their favorite book would be, How To See Europe On Less Than $16,134 A Day ....and that's after federal tax and then there's the 5% cost-of-living increase every year! (one for each ticket I'm gonna buy- don't wanna get too delusional)

$430 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges on rollover
Hmmm, I refuse to think about the jackpot's momentum slowing down but, I was hoping an increase today by about $20-$30 million, annuity. Either the frenzy has slowed down or, it is still too early to consider a growth before the drawing. Nonetheless, good luck to all.

California Super Lotto Plus
It appears every time I read one of your responses regarding jackpot sizes, you demonstrate a lack of understanding of annuity vs cash value of jackpots. Given you have posted over 800 times, you must of read thousands of posts and still you lack a clear understanding.

Which is best, Lump Sum vs Annuity? (Super Lotto!)
I have to agree with you on lump sum for my situation. I have known two Texas lotto winners here in Texas. The first one was a co-worker and had no choice but annuity as Texas didn't offer lump sum at the time. My friends our level headed people and have done well since their winnings. The other winner; well, let's just say lessons learned but doing well now. I would take the lump sum at my age I good if I'm alive to make to the bathroom when I need to pee. I think I would just make sure I tax i

Cash Amounts Variations
Correct. They don't know the exact amount because sales until the cutoff will affect the cash amount, which affects the annuity amount. It is an estimate. Remember when there is a huge jackpot and the jackpot amount would change 2 or 3 times or more because of heavy sales. So it really is a moot point.

Yikes! Cash Amounts Again!
I noticed something weird about the California Lottery SuperLotto Plus jackpots right before its $72 million jackpot was hit on 1/25/17. I believe the cash value ($43.5 million) of the jackpot did not change between the 1/14/17 and 1/18/17 draws, and actually decreased from $44.5 million to $44.4 million between the 1/21/17 and 1/25/17 draws. The annuity jackpot amount went up by $1 million every draw regardless. I'm sure these numbers were estimates, but seeing the cash value of a jackpot no
