Winning Mega Millions lottery ticket worth $56M sold in Michigan
Each second-place California winning ticket will receive $33,757, because the total prize pool for the second-place level in this drawing was $168,785. Even if California had only one second-place winner, that $168,785 would be a lot less than the $250,000 the second place winners in the other states. I remember reading some years ago about a Californian lottery that had almost a hundred winners and their part of the pot was almost or less than the lower tier winners. In California, lottery

Louisiana nurse claims $34.1M Powerball lottery jackpot
Congrats to her... Hope she has a long, happy life without the potential problems many lottery winners seem to have. It took her less than two weeks to claim but I'd assume that during that nine or ten days she at least got some things set up and prepared. I'm kind of surprised the two winners of the 17 million Mega Millions haven't come forward yet and I'm assuming the winner (or winners if it was a lottery pool) that won the 195 million MM a week before must still be getting things worked out

Man quits lottery pool, then wins with Quick Pick
1. How did they jinx him? 2. What kind of pathetic excuse do you have for not playing with the pool and then deliberately playing the same numbers as them? Did they do something terrible to you, or do you think their numbers are especially likely to win? On the off chance those numbers won a jackpot, do you think it would be unreasonable for them to think you stole half of their winnings?

How Long?
Somtimes I play the same numbers for 2 or 3 weeks but I mostly try to keep it random every time. There's a lottery pool at my local pub they have played the same 35 lines every week for 13 years and the most numbers they've ever had on one line is 4 and that only happened once, that's in the 6/49 UK Lotto.

Combinations & % Error Challenge
I did write a routine that calculates the average and median rate of occurances of the numbers in the winning combinations and compare that to the number of time they hit in a most recent period and color them accordinly, 0=blue, 2=red, 3 or more=yellow and everything else=green. When ever all of the winning numbers are one color and I calculate all the numbers that could be in that group, they're 80% of the total number pool so there's no real advantage. I keep checking hoping that one time the

Man quits lottery pool, then wins with Quick Pick
I have never played in a work pool and I never will! I'm to greedy, I want it all (for myself) and I want it now..... lol I guess that's the attitude I have always had (all my life).

4 charged in killing of $250,000 lottery winner in Ohio
Murdered for being stupid is the real cause of death. Its just not PLC to say the truth. His luck was winning the lottery. His stupidity was the reason some one decided to take it from him and then kill him. Paint a target on your back and there is a 2000% chance some one will aim for it. This guy went out and put a flashing LEd sign on his back that kept flashing, come and get me - again. Mother Nature ensures the dumb are eliminated. They mess up the gene pool.

Why is it beneficial to collect a lottery jackpot as a LLC?
It would then be wise to have a dated contract to that effect, signed by all participants, just as with an office or other pool. The IRS will not likely accept the notion that just because relatives say so, it is so. I don't pretend to be an attorney, but would think that if you had a non-relative witness the signing of such a contract among a group of relatives, that would give some additional weight. But when the IRS smells money, they can be really picky and people spend a lot of money fighti
