Has anyone tried a Lottery Pool?
Before I retired I regular participated in several lottery pools with my associates at work. We played the Ohio lottery when the jackpot was 12M or greater and matched 5 of 6 three times and in another pool we played Powerball when jackpot was 60M or greater and never won any real money. In the Ohio pool there was always a problem when we matched 5, because unless it was the jackpot, Ohio paid the winnings to one person who also had to pay the taxes. Because we saw each other at work everyday, w

Powerball PowerPicks for June 29
Anyone interested can recheck my figures. My figures show overall odds of having a winning ticket in PowerBall (5/49 + 1/42) is 1:34.7 which means one would expect to have 7-8 winning combinations out of 260 combinations. Picking your Mega Millions #'s(follow up to previous posts)
I have never used the auto-pick for my numbers and I know that MegaMillion tickets can not be canceled so many clerks in fear of making a mistake will only use the the card you fill out to pick your numbers which has boxes for auto-pick, but according to the Ohio Lottery website, you may ask the lottery retailer for auto-pick and have the computer pick your numbers. I have brought PowerBall tickets in Indiana and the old BigGame tickets in Michigan and untrained clerks who don't know how to run

An open request for information to RJOh, et. al.
To Otter,When I saw your question, I decide to define all the terms I used and how they are calculated. First the files have the following form: RN DA N1 N2 N3 N4 N5 BN. Numbers are in numerical order (small to large) and records are in order by drawing dates.RN = record numberDA = date of combinationN1 = first number (lowest value), N2 = second number and etc. to N5 = last number (highest value)BN = bonus number (big ball)GAP = N2-N1, N3-N2 and etc. to N5-N4 SUM = N1+ N2 + N3 + N4 + N5RANGE = N

RJOH: no predictions for tonight
That a little different than my theory. I play all 49 numbers which usually takes $9 or $10, hoping if I arrange them accoring to parameters established by looking at past drawings, a winner is in the group somewhere. Last month I matched 5/6 on a $10 ticket using that system so I'm trying to refine it. Megamillions doesn't have enough history to establish any parameters, so I will use Biggame history. I don't know if it was the system or just luck, but I seem to have gotten luckier this last mo

MegaMillion History
I use GW-Basic. Years ago I wrote a lottery program for my own use in basic for a Tandy1000. As I changed computers over the years I have kept a copy of that program and the basic interpeter and complier on my newer computers and when I see an idea I like, I write an additional routine for that old program. I have a copy of LottoPro2000 and their lotteries files can be read with Notepad which makes it easy for my old program to read thier files with minor changes. Their files are updated every 2

BIGGAME MAGAMILLIONS HISTORY,DATA AND PICKS
Consider the MagaMillion game first. For 52 numbers there are 2598960 possible combinations. For 43 numbers (10-52) there are 962548 possible combinations. 962548/2598960 = .370 or 37%, which means that 37% of all possible combination of 5/52 contain double digits only. 63% of all possible combinations of 5/52 contain one or more single digits. A random sample (which are the drawings) should show the same thing. For Ohio 6/49, possible combinations = 13983816, 6/40 (10-49) possible combo = 38383

Why is Steve Player the only one with the COURAGE to post hi
Like you, a lot of us want to win the Big one and don't waste time with the pick3/4 games, but there got to be a lot of losers for those jackpots to grow big. I got lucky last month and matched 5 of 6 for $1500 in Ohio lottery which put me ahead for the year $700, but at the rate I'm going, I'll be in the hole again before the year is out and won't have to pay taxes on those winnings. A year ago there were a lot more posters interested in the pick5/6 games, but lately this forum have become more
