Are you ever embarrassed that you're not a winner yet?Reply
The only time I'm ever embarrassed concerning the lottery is when I hand my play slip to the clerk and she tries to run it but I've forgotten to check/fill in the bonus ball number or failed to select either the annuity or CV option....and I'm not all that embarrassed. That time in the sixth grade when I stood before the class to read a funny poem I had written and had my classmates laughing hysterically only to find out my fly was open and that was the reason they were laughing....well, T

I tried to figure-out if you took the annuity and then sold it to a company like J G Wentworth or Peachtree that buys annuity's, would you come out ahead instead of taking the cash payout. I called J G Wentworth and asked that question but they wanted nothing to do with me when they found out I haven't won any lotteries (yet). I guess you'll have to get a lawyer to find out that answer if you ever do win the lottery. Stay the course and keep playing responsibly and for the fun of it.

Annuitizing over a longer period is what makes the jackpot seem bigger. Due to low interest rates, if the lotteries decreased the payout period then the annuity would be even less attractive than it is now. Only less appealing in the sense that they'd wouldn't be able to advertise such a large amount. It would actually be much more appealing to me because the amount per year would be higher. Yep I'd be worried about the government saying Oops we ran out of money to pay you the rest of your jackpot, sorry! I could totally see that happening in Illinois. Best thing to do is take the lump sum then have someone setup an annuity of some sort for you if you can't trust yourself not to blow it.

I was just notified by mail that I won $1,230,946.00 All I have to do is send a check for $12.99 payable to Award Notification Commission. They're good people, right ? LMAO Very official looking, didn't even read all the BS it says I could take the annuity and that's $2.000,000.00 The bottom of the page looks like a check made out for the 1.2 figure WTF ? suppose I want the annuity At the bottom of the check it says No purchase necessary. purchase will not increase your chances

I've said it before, but even second prize is life changing. After the change, it will be 1 in 11+ million to win a million dollars. My state lotto is 1 in 25+ million. Granted, that jackpot is over 20 million right now, but it starts at 5 million annuity, or around 3.5 million cash. $2 is not that much money for a shot at 1 million dollars, or 300 million.
