Lottery Number Programming
Dunno if they can use the same compiler but the syntax (language) is different and as I said my opinion is Basic the simpler of the two. Perhaps if C++ is where you started might be thats where you should stay. There is also a Visual C++ Express edition available - another freebie and it should be linked from the original page I gave you for Visual Basic.

Lottery Results Gadget Win XP equivalent.
I posted in a comment in that blog entry, and I indicated that I was successful in getting it to work under XP. It's definitely not officially supported, since it is not an official Microsoft-supported product, but everything (including the gadget) is free, so who cares?
Overall, my recommendation is just to get Vista. It's a relatively painless upgrade, now that drivers are available for just about everything, and the home versions are not expensive and don't require all that much more p

Ever wander how Todd doing Financially?
I've found lottery is not the way to go if you want to be an internet millionaire, as most visitors are looking to win money, not spend it.
Lucky for me this is a hobby not a profession.
Maybell did close up shop despite being a very popular site among lotto players due to high labor low return. Lottonet/lottofeed sold their accounts due to not having a life. I hope LP has an auto-pilot in case Todd gets a good offer to consult for Microsoft.

Frustrated
Actually, I was in a mutual fund that had the worst performance in 1999. While all the others were soaring, some doubling, this one lost value. I stuck with it until the end of Aug 2000. The first week of Sept it made over 20%.
Anyway, the stock market is different than the lottery. You might see a need for a product. The people who bought Microsoft in the mid-80s for a few dollars became millionaires because they saw its potential. The lottery is a game won by being lucky. Sure there'

computerized drawings set to take over the lottery in a few years?
Thanks ArtVandalay for posting that FAQ, it does help to show why states are moving towards the rng systems (not a huge fan, either). I come from somewhat of a technical background (not a super geek, but I like electronics) and I know that when ever custom software is produced there are going to be bugs. Some of these may be big and some may be small, but ultimatly there will be errors in the code. You see this almost daily with Microsoft products, yet no one seems to be throwing away their

What would you do if you won 10 Billion dollars..
I would also pour money into translation research software (i would create a pannel for it also), software that will be able to translate perfectly with all the inflections, the roots everything from one language to the next but perfectly....I would also talk to Experts in the field of Translation to see if we could modify dictionary word that are to make it to the dictionary to be more related to other languages or be words that are easy to translate by the software and not hard to translate...

The Magic Strings
Lottolaughs, I was attempting to test the last 50 draws in TX using your date formula with division by 1.618 and I was using the Microsoft calculator from accessories, It rounds off differently and the decimal point was in different places, so if there is not a way around that, i might have to do this in excel. We need to at least a 50 draw test on a game or an eve or mid game for each state game, to identify if the tool hit and how strings did it have to create before it got a winner and finall
