Store clerk accused of stealing $1M lottery ticket
I have to idea of how the rest of the states work, but in NJ there is a law that requires the dealer to post a copy of all winning numbers close the the machine. You can read them yourself. Or if you can't read, dial the telephone number advertised all over the state. NJ is also one of the states that tell you which dealer had the winning numbers. They can't hide. 'Course, it is possible you're too dumb to know where you bought the ticket. Personally, I write down the name of the store I bough

Unclaimed New Mexico Powerball jackpot fuels speculation
Likely as not it's some man and wife in the South Valley huddled in a dark room, her poring over an old Freiden calculator, him running long tapes on a Victor trying to figure out whether they can break even if they claim the prize, or whether they'll be better off just using the ticket to roll into a joint and forget the whole thing as a bad investment.Maybe they rhyme, these folks, in some ways with the young woman I told about in another thread a while back who won several thousand dollars on

Lottery Cheats Ruin Players' Chances

lost jackpot ticket
Quote: Originally posted by ineed9million on April 24, 2005A signed ticket is classified as misplaced if the owner has some idea where he or she had it last. As soon as you pick up the ticket would be classified as an voluntary bailee which means that you owe the owner of the ticket a duty to hold onto the ticket and make best efforts to see that its returned...If its not signed...then i can't think of any way the true owner would be able to establish ownership. The only true way that a person
