60 days to decide if lump sum or annuity, 180 days to claim. Huh?
From the Powerball FAQ page, about 2/3 down the page:
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY MONEY?
It takes up to two weeks to collect the cash from the stores around the nation. If you go to the lottery to claim your prize after that two weeks, then, in many states, you can generally have the jackpot money (all cash or the first of the annual payments) hit your bank account the next day - maybe the following day if you come to the lottery office very late in the day. Some lotteries must w

Oregon man claims $6.3 million Arizona Lottery jackpot
By Todd Northrop
An Oregon man who purchased a lottery ticket in Arizona is now a multi-millionaire.
Frederick Hallwyler purchased a few lottery tickets while visiting Arizona, including four quick picks for The Pick drawing on Saturday, Sept. 26, from a vending machine at a Fry's Food Store in Avondale.
He returned to Portland and remembered to check his tickets three days later. What he found out was that one of his tickets matched all six numbers for the $6,285,618 jackpot.

Nonlinear regression to predict lotteries
Are those statistics calculated on real tickets you bought, or they calculated on a theorical basis?
It is the theoretical performance of my system. My cash in 2014 ROI was a + 5% of the total profit of the money invested (after paying the fees of 21% of profit) . Two years ago in Spain there were no gains taxes on lottery winnings , so it was much more profitable.
Explain the concepts :
Profit: Gross cash prize you win by hitting a draw.
Benefit : Budget Amount after paying taxes on

Supermarket chain accused of allowing lottery sales to minors
Children hoping to buy lottery tickets from vending machines may soon find it more difficult.
Northeastern University's Public Health Advocacy Institute is demanding that Star Market remove scratch lottery ticket vending machines from its Massachusetts stores after, PHAI claims, a 14-year-old was able to purchase tickets from two stores.
According to NECN, PHAI sent a letter to the company stating that a 14-year-old boy was able to purchase tickets at Star Market locations on Beacon Street

Post your scratch ticket results
Went to my 3 nearest retailers today all on the corner of 75th and Archer (Publix, Valero, and Shell)
Started at the Valero/Kangaroo. He had 2 rolls of GRT, one on #014 and the other on #013. I go for #014. It was a loser. So I went for #015. This one didn't look good until I got to the very last number and had a stack of coins. I was sure this was only going to be $20, but couldn't find another matching number. Turns out it was the $10.00 for a $30 winner. Guess that answered my questio

Playing every ticket from a machine.
Whoa Jim...relax! Nobody's upset here, except maybe you? I was just politely telling you that you didn't do the vending machine challenge properly, which is the subject of this particular thread.
You are more than welcome to post your scratch results. In fact, there is the longest running thread on this entire site just for that purpose called Post your scratch ticket results And I've never seen ANYBODY on the site comment disparagingly about someone's posted small wins. A win is a win!

I hate scratch offs
The only reason I buy scratch-offs occasionally, is because I win maybe $2 a year off my PB MM tickets. Total. Seriously. So scratch-offs help me pay for playing for the big wins.
There is one store I like in particular and this one clerk had the magic touch. However, I haven't seen her in ages, so I think the magic has left there (haven't bought a real winning one there in ages). In fact, I've been wondering if some of the clerks have been doing the little scratch with their fingernail to gr

Instant Machines!
High traffic supermarket machines do increases your odds a little bit, let me repeat just a little bit, due to more people scratching and paving the way to a winner. However, as you all know, winning tickets are all location dependent, as the winners are distributed to random locations throughout the state.
The advantages of machines are...
You don't have to deal with a clerk.
Some locations have a high roll turnover.
They are faster and more convienent to use.
There are no lines
