Are Mega Millions sales really that bad now?
Thank you. That's all folks.
A headline jackpot is what people see, sales should be comparable (or less, given people know of worse odds). I've played in 11 states; billboards, sides of busses, window LEDs, and the terminals only ever gave headline number. It doesn't matter that there was a matrix change (aside from what I mentioned about worse odds leading to spend less). If increased playing population and increased headline due to annuity schedule show lower sales for comparable levels, th

Is tonight the night a MegaMillions jackpot will be won?
The MM jackpot cash value has finally reached $150M+ at $153M for tonight's drawing. The cash value is the only relevant figure when it comes to a prize amount as the annuity is simply a fictitious number that loses most of it's value over the 30 years payout period.
Hope it hits tonight so good luck to all playing!

New multi-state lottery game launches Sunday
I'll probably try it a couple times just to get into the excitement of a new game.
Have they stated if the jackpot is annuity or cash payout? I can't seem to find that anywhere.

How soon would you come forward to claim your jackpot winnings: should you win?
I would wear a Tuxedo just like Mike Pace did. He was the host of Power Ball awhile back.
I am also thinking about taking the Annuity option. I am not in a rush to claim my prize.

California nail technician wins $228M Powerball jackpot
I'm too old for the annuity, AND I like to spend. I'd have to take the lump sum, and have a trust dole out an allowance.
Congrats to Vinh Win on the win!

Poll: New National Game October 19th - Will You Play?
$25 million annuity is not at all tempting for $5. If it was a LotoMax clone I would play for $50 million cash jackpots.
It is good to have choices but it looks to me as if the lottery is using that logic to divide and conquer. There is going to come a time when there are so many games that nobody will win anything much on any of them. That is probably the goal for all the lotteries.

Why not choose the annuity?
HI, I am a newby here. About the thirty year annuity(MM/PB). Life insurance is required here. Because if you die before the last payment the IRS will tax the remaining amount at present value. Your heirs will owe a boat load if you die to soon. The insurance would cover this tax bill. I think the IRS gives them ninety days to pay.
I have decided to take the Lump Sum when I win.

Why not choose the annuity?
I know because I look it up but I would rather them say Today's jackpot is 57 million and have the cash value hanging in the stores rather than the annuity amount.
NC deducts both. I know this... I'm just saying that... being that most players choose cash value that is the amount that should be advertised.
