State income tax rates
Quote: Originally posted by hypersoniq on May 09, 2004PA exempts winners from state AND local taxes on lottery winnings for PA residents.Only if those winnings were won on games within the state. If the winnings come from another state, you pay Pa state income tax.I know, since for the past three years I paid Pa income tax on slot winnings from Delaware park. $1,200 or above they give you a W2-G form right there on the spot. Powerball 170 million!!
Yup, now official at PlayLot.com.I'm going to be in Delaware between now Wednesday, so I'm going to pick up some tickets while I'm there. Those not so lucky to be in a Powerball state, as discussed in other threads here, go to PlayLot.com - recommended by lots of people here. You can play online from this reputable company.Good luck, I hope a LP member brings it home!

Which state I can buy both Powerball and
Michiganplayer what Todd is saying is you can buy your tickets on-line without traveling to the US.I live in Maryland and sometimes go to DC to buy powerball tickets but i have also bought them in PA and Delaware. I quess if one lived on the border of the two you could walk but it's about 100 mile round trip for me to DC.The powerball website lists all the states that have the game so does the megamillion website.color=#800080Welcome to Powerballcolor=#800080Official Home of Mega Millions

Pwerball is the same in all states?
yes, the PA lottery is free of state and local taxes.... for PA residents.I don't know, Delaware is still the only state allowing you to claim anonymously with out needing to set up a trust or LLC... If I were through there I'd buy one ;-)

Betting or Gambling!
Well I do like to bet on the horses and dogs. You do not win as much as you do with lottery but at least I have a little jiggle in my pocket. Sat is opening day at Delaware Park!!! I have learned some interesting think with betting the horses and it pays OFF.
