How exactly are lottery wins taxed? I know if you win over $600 here in NY you get your check instead of cash and your w2, but say you continually win 500 a week, just an example per se. At the end of the year you have $26,000 right, but it s not reported. It s cash winnings, hand over fist. Do you have to explain that at all to the tax man. I just looked at the official MSL newsletter and Michigan is making it 33% harder to win the Fast Cash next month as they want the prizes as fewer and farther between. This means that next month, according to the official newsletter, the top prize odds will be 400,000 to 1 instead of 300,000 to 1 for all Fast Cash Jackpots.
