If you won either the MM/PB JP: How soon would you claim your prize?
I tend to choose annuity but I would talk to a financial planner to hear what they have to say. How long? I don't know. I never hire a financial planner before and I don't know where to find a good one. That's what would take most of my time. Finding a good one among many.
Winning a lottery is once in a lifetime opportunity so I want to be careful.

Can you see yourself selling your winning MM/PB ticket to JGWentworth etc?
You need to go back and read what I was responding to.
I was referring to past lottery winners that were forced to take an annuity because the option of lump sum wasn't offered thereby falling prey to these sharks who offered structured deal settlements.

$600 MILLION: Biggest Powerball jackpot ever
I guess this would break the world record for both annuity and cash value? The bigger 656 millions MM last year had 3 winners. This one only one winner.
EDIT: if this is an office pool, then it doesn't break the record for a single individual.

2 tickets win Mega Millions jackpot worth $190M
A Mega Millions jackpot advertised at $190 million has been won by two tickets, one sold in New Jersey, the other in Virginia.
They matched all the numbers drawn Friday night: 11, 15, 35, 43 and 49, with Mega Ball number 41. The Megaplier was 4.
Winners usually take the cash payout, which in this case would be $70 million each. Before taxes, of course.
Seventeen tickets missed only the Mega Ball and won second worth $250,000: 1 from Colorado, 1 from Iowa, 1 from Maryland, 3 from Michiga

If you can choose to give up your winnings in exchange for being never hungry or homeless...
well if those are the only 2 options... then I will have to choose option 3... take the winnings in annuity form... then I'm not in the 1%... and not taxed at 80-90% but rather are taxed at 50%+... and then I can give AND spend...
so... if only options 1 2... then I choose 3

Annuity or Lump Sum?
There are a lot of good arguments in this thread for both sides. The thing is that most of us will never win PB or MM to decide lump sum or
annuity anyway. Hell I can't even win pick 3 or 4 what win MM.

Would you spend $10 Million on a home.
Why thank you!
I've been a casual lotto player with a couple of friends and I've always been fascinated by discussing it and it's fun to talk and dream. haha. Only thing is I'm surprised so many people take the lump sum over annuity. Guess not much faith in the USA govt huh? Although looking at how people spend their money, it's hard for me to see how the avg person can protect and grow their wealth either...aka this exact post where people want to purchase a 10 million home...

Multi State Jackpot Fever
7 million a year after taxes for the annuity.
I'd still take the 134 million cash option.

Tennessee to add Hot Lotto multi-state lottery game
This is the way ALL jackpot lottery games in the United States should be...cash value and taxes paid. Then there would be truth in advertising since 99 percent of jackpot winners that have a choice opt for the cash value vice the annuity. And it would get Obama out of lottery winners pockets and keep lottery winners out of jail for tax issues with the I.R.S., which like the E.P.A., seem to have a personal vendetta against companies and organizations someone in the top ranks does not like. Now if
