Almost had a big hit!!
I had very similar close calls, and that hurts just looking at it. Just imagine, only one digit and one number away from $300 million. I think 5 of 5 is $200,000 x 4 for $800,000, not sure if there was a bonus pool yet though. But still, if that 42 was a 44 it would have been drastically different, and even more drastically different if you matched the powerball also. You may never get that close again, the numbers either make you or break you. Usually the latter.

Payments are not that bad.
Taken from the Powerball FAQ page: _____________________________________________________________________________________ WHY HAS THE CASH JACKPOT GONE DOWN? Actually, it is the annuity jackpot that has gone UP. Most people assume that we start with the annuity, but we actually start with the cash jackpot. In the Powerball game, thirty cents of every dollar sold goes into the cash jackpot pool. The difference between the cash jackpot and the annuity jackpot depends on how much we can make

Again...I dont know why I bother with PB
50 tickets. Two numbers max! Good for what? That same $50 couldve been spent playing every state on pick 3. At 5'9, 39 years of age and no jumping abilities I think have a better chance of making the NBA than hitting the powerball but you dont see me asking Phil Jackson for a try out for the Lakers but every time PB hits over $150 my $50 goes to that DREAM. I took another $50 and played 8 hours of poker and won $674 online. Im just venting. Like I said unless Im part of a work company po

Almost had a big hit!!
as of matter of fact here is a brief If you choose to specify the numbers yourself, you select five distinct numbers between 1 and 55, and one Powerball number between 1 and 42. The Powerball can be the same as one of the first five numbers, because it is drawn from a separate number pool from the first five numbers.

$400 Million Powerball ?
The winning ticket was sold in Nebraska. Big difference. Could be out of state winner. Could be a pool. Could be a lost ticket. Impatiantly waiting for the press conference. Nothing can be done until Tuesday anyway. Bummer winning on a holiday week! Won millions and can't get a single penny of it. Brother, can you spare a dime, has a whole new meaning.

Match 5 Bonus Pool
The nice thing about the bonus pool is that you no longer have to buy Powerplay. Why waste money on something that's free. This is especially true if you cover all the Powerball numbers (all 42) as most states limit their liabilities (your prize) to below 20 million (depends on state check your state laws). The bonus prize is not a state liability so it wouldn't have any impact to them.

Is ist legal to play powerball online??
Lolli That is a tough legal question. I guess it can all be legit as long as you are not having tickets mailed through the U.S. Post Office. However, trusting the person running the pool when joining an online group can be tricky, as they must be willing to send you signed documentation about who gets what share of any jackpot, etc.
