Oregon lottery winners can now remain anonymous
Governor signs bill into law granting full anonymity to winners of any prize amount
By Kate Northrop
On Thursday, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek signed a bill into law that grants full anonymity to all Oregon lottery winners, regardless of the prize amount.
Oregon lottery winners will now be able to keep their identity private thanks to the passage of House Bill 3115, which stipulates that the only way the Oregon Lottery can publicly release a player's name is if the winner grants permis

Oregon Lottery
I read some time ago that the Oregon legislature was considering allowing lottery winners to remain anonymous. I live in Idaho and would make the trip to play there if it passed, but I haven't been able to find any updates. Anyone know?
One thing that might make me hesitate is that the Oregon Lottery is now paying prizes between $600 and $20,000 in Elan prepaid cards. Their website suggests that if you want cash, to use an ATM. Last I knew there was a limit to how much you can withdraw per tr

Oregon Lottery Corruption
Please tell everyone you know in Oregon to not play any Oregon Lottery games. I am the person who just ended 3 Lottery schemes and have been exposing a multi billion dollar ponzi like scheme by falsifying prize tickets and inflating prizes and revenues. Billions are money laundered through illegal and unregulated VLT's each year. Why? So the State of Oregon could use these falsified Lottery net proceeds to sell over $8 Billiion in Lottery Revenue bond debt obligations now owed. Many articles and

Oregon man finds $1 million lottery ticket 8 days before it expired
An Oregon man recently discovered a year-old winning lotto ticket in his home office that he was cleaning, according to the Oregon Lottery.
Amazingly, the lucky man Joemel Panisa found the ticket just eight days before it expired, the Oregon Lottery said in a news release on Wednesday. The ticket was worth $1 million.
Panisa was able to claim the ticket just in the nick of time, and he is officially now the fourth Mega Millions $1 million winner from Oregon since the game was offered in th

Oregon Lottery contributions critical to athletic department
The University of Oregon athletic department likes to say it is self-sufficient. However, true self-sufficiency would mean receiving no outside help from other organizations.
The department is almost self-sufficient. It hasn't received any money from the University's general fund since 2003, so it is self-sufficient from the institution. In reality, the University and the other colleges in the state of Oregon gets a little bit of help from an unlikely source: the Oregon Lottery.
Since 1990

Oregon Lottery adds slot games to video poker machines
The electronic version of one-arm bandits is coming to Oregon bars and restaurants this summer.Under prodding from Gov. Ted Kulongoski, the Oregon State Lottery Commission voted unanimously Wednesday to allow slot-machine-style games on the state's network of video-poker terminals. That means more than 2,200 bars and restaurants across Oregon could offer electronic slots as soon as July 1. If you knew the numbers before the drawing?
Although some may be aware of the true story about a newpaper printing the winning numbers prior to the drawing some years ago...
The story basically goes like this..
What would happen if, crazy as it might sound, a newspaper published the correct numbers of a lottery before the numbers were drawn? This story begins where a Vancouver resident called Oregon Lottery officials claiming that the newspaper he was reading The Columbian had printed the winning numbers for that nights drawing in t

Oregon Lottery launches modern remix of first-ever ticket to celebrate 40th anniversary
The nostalgic pot of gold returns
By Kate Northrop
To commemorate 40 years in business, the Oregon Lottery has reimagined its very first ticket with a fresh design and modern prize structure.
It's all rainbows at the Oregon Lottery this year, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a modern twist on its original Pot of Gold ticket.
The Oregon Lottery is celebrating 40 years since it sold its very first ticket on April 25, 1985 with a fittingly named $30 scratch-off game ca

location, location, location?
In my adult life I have lived in three areas of Oregon and each area had winners for all lottery games. The big games like megabucks in the years that I have played have always been spread out over the state and the three winners we had for Powerball were also spread out. But I also knew of two stores that had luck with winners. When I lived in Dallas, Oregon the convenient store/gas station known as Jackpot sold scratch-it Top prize winners periodically and had a Megabucks winner. Then wh

Top Oregon lottery official may lose post
Oregon Senate Democrats might block the reappointment of an Oregon State Lottery commissioner for resisting efforts to further increase the state's share of lottery profits last year.On Wednesday, the Senate Rules and Executive Appointments Committee withheld approval of Stan Robson for another term on the lottery commission, said committee chairwoman Sen. Kate Brown, D-Portland. I have some concerns about the position he took on the last lottery contracts and am not sure I'm going to move forwa
