Revision of an earlier post since the jackpot size was changed.Mega Millions set a new 16 roll record for the Nov 15 draw at $315 million. The previous 16 roll record was $160 and was set by The Big Game. The 16 roll record for Powerball is $314.9 million (almost identical to the Mega Millions record).At 16, this is the largest number of Mega Millions rolls. The Big Game, though, rolled to a maximum of 19 times. Powerball also rolled a maximum of 19 times.

When the North American record jackpot was played in MM, they were playing the 5/50+1/36 format. You were right CASH Only about when teh North American record jackpot record was reached. I hope that MM sets a record until it hits 363+ million and one ticket wins the jackpot in the 5/56+1/46 format.

The reason they have the cap rule in place is for marketing purposes. According to Powerball officials, some players will only play when there is a record, and if they get a record jackpot of $700 million this year, they miss chances to have records at $400 million, $500 million, etc. Plus, they also feel the potential for increased match 5+0 prizes will attract more players and generate more publicity as well. I got some new info about Lotto 5. I said the record was $730,000 I was wrong. The record to beat is $765,923. The $730,000 was an underestimated Jackpot. Lets see if we break a record. Since it's the weekend and people are just getting paid we may see a new record. By the way the $765,900 winner was from Greene County, TN.
