I disagree. Europeans like to wager on anything. Their bookies takes bets on all sides and leaves it for the event to unfold. The lotteries can remove doubt from players by steering away from the actual drawings, assign it to an independent 3rd party. Let the ball fall where it may.

In Europe you can bet on any event. The bookies just take the money and compute the odds. The MM/PB to be trust worthy should not be the ones conducting the drawings. An independent entity, devoid of any relationships with the lottery, should be conducting the drawings. If they do that then the MM/PB will be 100% fair and square.

$20 per week on whichever big jackpot game I happen to be playing at the time. When the PB or MM JP grows to over a quarter billion I'll go an extra $10 per draw until it is won, so my absolute maximum would be $60 per week in the unlikely event both PB and MM happen to be over $250 M at the same time. Guess that makes me a serious player???

I agree. I know a number of people who work there and supposedly it is not a great place to work. You have to remember you have other parties with jurisdiction like the FBI, states, DOJ, local police, even the military in an event type situation and the problem has always been with info sharing and cooperation among these individuals.This just added another layer to the turf wars or the old Al Haig claim of I am in charge here.
