Virginia Lottery Director Khalid R. Jones appointed as Mega Millions Lead Director
I read everyone comments and I actually agree with everyone who has different perspective on the price increase. And there's the problem, no one is playing the piece of crap new structure game. I never purchased a $5 ticket since it's new structure and I'll never will as long it stays at this price. I don't care if it reaches 2 Billion, NOPE because PB will probably between $400-$800 million levels if MM reaches those levels and I have a piece mind my $2 going towards jackpots that's more fair t

Five dollar MM
Good point. I mean I get it... I get both sides. The dollar is worth less because of inflation. But I also see where alot of people no longer have that extra disposable income to buy a ticket. And I just don't think it's a good time right now to raise prices. Again just my opinion. I honestly can't speak for the dollar scratcher thing. Tell you the truth. I have never bought any. I was always told the odds are horrendous with dollar tickets. So I stayed away. I dunno man. It's like nowadays you'

Five dollar MM
I think its the money. And then the astromical odds to win. These games originally where a dollar. The a dollar and a dream . Then they added a bonus for a dollar. Then raised the prices to two dollars a game. Now the one game is five bucks and you can not opt out of a bonus. For some five bucks is alot. I mean if you win. It would be absolutely fantastic. But the chances are slim to none for that happening. I kinda see it as a moving the goal post senero. Just the way i kinda see it. But I do k

MM $5, PB $2, Powerplay $1I
If a lottery pool buys Powerplay, it means the last 1/3 of the pool's money has a zero chance to win the jackpot.
The purpose of a lottery pool is to maximize the participants' chances of winning the jackpot. Throwing away the last 1/3 of the pool's money on Powerplay will not change the amount of each participant's share should they win, but will reduce their chances of winning by 1/3. That makes no sense.
There is a way to guarantee a $2 million win for second prize (assuming this is n

Montana Lottery aims to prohibit bulk purchases after group takes gamble on $1.6 million jackpot
So a well designed lottery game in your estimation is one where the odds are so high, no one ever wins the jackpot, but the state in question gets money forever.
Since I'm not an imaginary Ayn Rand fever dream I understand what lotteries are designed for. Prizes are just an undesirable necessity to separate players from their money. People with a poor grasp of reality are free to whine about how long a game goes without somebody winning, but having a better grasp of reality the only winner

North Carolina lottery winner of $100,000 lets wife decide what to do with winnings
Congratulations on the win.
Every time that I buy a lottery ticket, I have a plan of what I would do with the money. Be it 5K, 10K or 1 Billion
Everyone else will be aware of the win after I have done what I wanted to do with the money

I'll just give the money to my wife and let her figure out what to do with it.

Abraham Shakespeare moved Dee Dee Moore into his house? :O
I could be wrong but I believe that Abraham was attracted to Dee Dee and thought he could win her over with his money.
Why else would he put his money in her bank account???
When his girlfriend expressed concerns about him trusting a stranger, he told her not to worry...he knew what he was doing.
Unfortunately for Mr. Shakespeare, he was wrong.

$1.7 BILLION: Powerball jackpot juggernaut keeps rolling
I believe Wild Bill is just imagining that he is in a pool of 80 and his work doesn't mind all the time it takes up with a possible end result of everyone quitting the job destroying the company if they win. They should have won many, many more smaller prizes than he claims they do with that amount of tickets weekly. We had a pool at work once and it was just drawing one name out of a hat. That took over an hour to organize and collect the money weekly. Never mind trying to extract 10.00 from 80
