Why do you get more with Mega Millions?
Powerball starts at $15 million and goes up a minimum of $5 million per draw. Mega Millions starts at $12 million. There is no minimum increase. Usually after 2 draws MM is at around $16 - $17 million, while Powerball is at $20 million. Mega Millions reaches around $25 Million on the third draw. Powerball is around $27 million or so. When Powerball reaches a record high (currently $365 million) it will only grow in $25 million increments. Mega Millions has no such limitation.

Things to avoid as a new Lottery jackpot winner.
Yep, I used to dream about having a $20 million house on the coast of southern CA for the winter and a $10 million house somewhere in the mountains for summer. I dreamed of chartering a private jet to move from one to the other each season, and for all my travel needs. But I've scaled down my needs if I should win, too. Even if I should win a record jackpot, I still won't buy a house for more than $750k. Even in resort towns, you can get a really nice house with half acre or more for

if you found a winning ticket that wasn't yours
I know a lot of people who do that. I also know married couples who file taxes to different addresses so the wife can claim head of household and get back a big return. Question??? If you have a hunch on a number and play it say $1.00 str 10 times on seperate tickets as apposed to playing it all on one ticket, is that tax evasion???? On the ticket with the number 10 times you would have to pay taxes because that ticket would be worth $5,000 and you would get a W-2G. The single tickets you

How Long Will It Be Until We Have A Lotto Billionaire ?
1. When a lottery has a $390 jackpot what it really has is $190M cash if invested wisely for 25 plus years could yield $390M. 2. The $190 cash were the results of millions of players playing and losing over a period of two months. 3. The drawing that finally had the two winners sold 212M tickets which was probably a record for ticket sales for one drawing, the total number of tickets sold for all the drawings leading up to that winning one was probably 10 times that.

$75M Texas Lotto jackpot claimed by business partnership
Why anyone would even give their name if you provide the name of the company (being the legal entitiy to win the prize) is beyond me. Jarrettac, I can't say what the rules are in TX but in FL it doesn't matter how you claim the money - your name still has to appear on the press release and is available as a public record. Just because someone forms a corporation for privacy and/or tax purposes, doesn't mean he can duck under the radar if the state rules say otherwise. I had a business w

'All or Nothing' game
The states already offer plenty of games with low level prizes for those who prefer them to the structure of the jackpot games. Statistically you should expect to lose at least half of your money over the long term, and if winning 10 grand over the course of 20 years makes a significant difference in your life you shouldn't be playing the lottery anyway. Even a modest jackpot will change your life. An all or nothing game should appeal to all players with sense. With jackpot games typically p

would you play in a jackpot pool
My question is WHY? The same goes for those who say they won't play if the jackpot is less than say $50 million AND they could afford to play every draw. There have been times in the past where I purchased $50 worth of QPs for a then record Big Game drawing only to win a few bucks. That result would not have been any different had I purchased those QPs as a part of a lottery pool. For those who are on a tight budget, playing in a pool of say 10 or 20 people is probably attractive in that t

Random Number Generator: ORION Products...
I doubt that nature can be more random than a computer unless the output field was of 1 digit, and the span of the output field was very large...The only thing in nature that i think can be trully random is if you had miles and miles of sheet with sensors and you were to record each microsecond the location the drop of water hits the ground in a rain...And electron tunneling, if i think it is what it is is not random enough... Also something that i say can be more random than any existing thi
