Marine credits karma for $2.9 million slots jackpot
Congratulations, Alexander, on your tidy, pre-taxed slot machine annuity jackpot win! You have a vivacious and handsome face.
Alexander, it's encouraging that you are planning to be financially kind to your undelivered nephew (or niece), sister, and mother. A true gentleman!

Indiana man wins $5M on scratch-off
Congrats to the winner!
I still cannot understand why people whine about Powerball Tickets being $2 for a minimum of $40,000,000 annuity in turn they think that spending $20 on a ticket that the maximum is $5,000,000 is a bargain ................

Cash Vs Annuity Payments
KY Floyd made a good input with his estimated payouts. In Powerball annuities increase every year by 4%.
Actual sums become 100% sure after only after are all paid out, it should be noted.
We do not know future interest rates either, but those appear to be on zero level, even negative real rates appears to exist, supporting gold.
Since most people do choose cash option, they must be 100% certain they can gain themself much more what having simple annuity
plan providing it all au

The Thrifty Way To Winning A Lottery Jackpot With A Lottery Stop Loss Limit And 3 Playing Methods
I am buying $1 quick pick ticket for mega millions. You are right, I should buy 2 mega millions Lines instead of 1 Line.Spending $2 on powerball below $100 millions is very hard to do.
I have to be thankful to all the players that push the powerball jackpot to $100 millions annuity for me to start spending $2. Wouldn't you? Or for that matter to those players that pushed the mega millions jackpot to $72 millions for me to start spending $1 or $2 on it.

would form a trust to claim a 2million pb prize?
With the crappy interest rates as they stand now, (which is what they base your 20-30 annual annuity payments on), screw that!!!

Cash Vs Annuity Payments
oh not me...I want the annuity so I can pay potentially less taxes on it for years to come cause our government is so effecient and theres no doubt that the tax rate for millionaires will definitely be less in the future 29 installments.....Boy, if that statement cause projectile vomiting............
SHOW ME THE CASH RIGHT NOW !!!!!

$250 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot ramps up
Hmmm, Annutiy or Lump Sum??? Personaly, I think I'd take the Annuity. On average that comes out to $694,444 Per MONTH for the next 30 years! Yeah, I suppose I could live off that. Forget taking the Lump Sum, and than trying to double your money, when there is a guaranteed way to pull in a Quarter Billion...
Heck, I just hope that me and whoever hits the jackpot have the same Numbers picked out!

taxes on lottery winnings :(
I'm new here, I'm 19 and have been playing powerball since i was 14 (gotta love the immigrants at the gas stations that dont card for lottery). I was wondering how the tax's work on lottery winnings. I Live in Pennsylvania so theres no state or local tax, the powerball and usa mega site says 25% federal tax on lottery winnings, but i keep hearing i would fall into the 35% tax bracket if i won the 250 million on wednesday night. Is it 25 they take or 35, if its 35 how can they advertise 25? being

Powerball Jackpot
Whoop!, I misspoke as Rommey might say.
Over the years I have seen the values of lottery games jackpots reach the amounts it would cost to buy every combinations but I will really be surprised if a PB jackpot ever amounts to $354,470,020 even with its 30 years annuity plan, but if I do I will buy a ticket.

Lotto tickets bought with bags of coins lead to bust in massive Metro theft
A lot of winners are opting for the lump-sum payout right now because the bond rates are so low. You can earn more on your money in the market - if you trust that.
That said, it still may make sense to take the annuity. You spread out your tax burden and get a check every year!
