Are people changing the way they play the lottery?
Hi RJOH,
I understand when you said if you aren't getting the results you want why do the same thing. That's why I am thinking of little ways to change things up a bit. For myself I find it easier to do QP's since I buy just one draw ticket at a time. I was getting a bit stressed out when I was trying to do an analysis and pick my own numbers ( though at times I was a bit more successful than using QP's but that was when I was buying more than one draw ticket at a time). What is OCL is that y

Nonlinear regression to predict lotteries
Hi RJOh,
I will probably post some predictions for Powerball. I do have the powerball history. I however wanted to know when the last changes occured in that game. Changes for the main balls and changes for the powerball. I want to use a coherent history. Drawings that came before any changes must be eliminated if you want to get the right statistics. Also, I delete the 100 drawings after any change.

Friends sue NJ Lottery, saying they're owed $1 million for discarded ticket
How about this scenario RJOH : They Did purchase 3 tickets, they discard the winning one, someone picks that one out of the trash or wherever and cashes it.
Would these two have a case in telling the court that the ticket they threw away was found and cashed by this person?- the answer would be, if you did not sign the back of the ticket, you lose!
There is nothing in this story that tells us whether they signed the back of the ticket or not, in any event they up a creek without a paddle

Massive Ohio Lotto jackpot finally won
It's not the game itself. Here in Texas our Lotto game has odds almost 1 in 26 million. It's been hit twice this year. The first was Jan 1st with a jackpot of 12 million. Most recently on May 31st with a jackpot of 36.25. It has never in my recollection gone as long as Ohio's.
It's more about how many tickets are sold. It would seem that there aren't that many people playing Classic Lotto. RJOh pointed out that Ohio has been running a MM promo lately that probably hurt Classic Lotto sales.

Mathematics and the Lottery
RJOH suggests I learn programming, as he did.
I suggested you learn programming as I'm doing all over again since everything I learned in the older versions of Basic(GWBasic) isn't worth knowing now that Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.
I down loaded a free copy of JustBasic and after a couple of days studying it tried to covert one of GWBasic program and found out they may look similar but they're very different lanuages, for one thing there is no way to covert the DATA

Ohio Lottery considering offering a $50 instant ticket
RJOh,
Who do you think MM makes more off of, a $1 player or a $15 player?
Any one willing to put up $15 to guarantee a $1 'win' is considered a perfect player for the house.

What's the farthest you have drove to play a lotto game?
A few years ago before Tx got PB, I would drive up to OK if the PB jackpot was over 100 million. It was about an hour each way. I would drive by the Winstar casino and was kinda sorta tempted to check it out, but never did. LOL.
With gas prices today, I don't think I would do that now.
I'm a Buckeye fan (being from Ohio). So I have to say that I'm hoping for a Buckeye to win. LOL. Would be nice for RJoH to win for his BD.

What's the farthest you have drove to play a lotto game?
First...Happy Birthday Rjoh!!!
My husband and I drive to Delaware, Pennsylvania and DC to play from time to time.
That would be in round trip miles, 115 miles, 76 mile and 103 miles respectively. (man, something is wrong with us.)
Good question Poo Nanny, and what an eye opener....
