What were the roll numbers? I think an interesting thing would be to keep track of the roll numbers at the start of the game because it will give an idea of how sequentially the game is going. We can also figure out when the lottery starts snatching tickets back and jackpots stop flowing. Like Dracos said, there should be 1 $1M weekly. There wasn't last week so two got claimed today.

Apart from the 540 Million dollar jackpot last summer, when was the last time MM exceeded 400M? That's why I almost always play PB. I do agree with the OP though that when the jackpots are nearly even it's better to play MM.

You do know that there are $1, $2, $3, $5, and $10 scratch tickets too? You don't have to buy 6 $30 tickets. Just buy 1. Or buy a $2 ticket. Granted, you won't win millions on one of those, but the jackpots on those aren't chicken feed.

I noticed something weird about the California Lottery SuperLotto Plus jackpots right before its $72 million jackpot was hit on 1/25/17. I believe the cash value ($43.5 million) of the jackpot did not change between the 1/14/17 and 1/18/17 draws, and actually decreased from $44.5 million to $44.4 million between the 1/21/17 and 1/25/17 draws. I guess too many people buy PB or MM instead of SuperLotto+. Personally if I had a state game with odds like SuperLotto I would focus on that and only buy PB/MM in case of big jackpots.
