New Mexico lawmakers introduce bill to end lottery
OOPs, right after coping and pasting the portion of the news article I was replying to, I posted before commenting. Weird how that got negative votes, considering my name isn't on the byline. It's a shame they didn't at least say what they found wrong with either me posting a couple sentences from the article or the article itself.
Maybe they negative karens will explain why lottery games are a tax on the poor and uneducated.

Many people who might be reading this post may not be at least 52 years of age, and therefore they probably wont have any recollection of what I'm about to write.
Back in December of 1968, The Hong Kong flu ( a flu as deadly and scary as Covid-19) swept over the world and it killed one million elderly people, 100,000 of whom were in The USA. Most of the people that died were aged 65 or older.
In January of 1969 a music festival was being planned for August of 1969 to be held in Ulster Coun

NJ lottery winners might soon be able to stay anonymous
Big jackpot winners and lucky scratch-off ticket holders in New Jersey are one step closer to keeping their winnings a secret after the state Assembly passed a bill that would shield the identity of lottery winners in the state.
The measure (S2267), sponsored by state Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, and Sen. Kristin Corrado, R-Passaic, would directly amend the state's lottery regulations.
Currently, the state requires the ticket holder to publicly come forward to claim thei

NY Gov Cuomo vetoes bill that would have allowed lottery jackpot winners to remain anonymous
The governor added that those wanting to remain anonymous under current law have the option of forming a limited liability company to collected the winnings for them.
News to me, but maybe he just has a different definition of anonymity. I've long been under the impression that the NY lottery identified actual people even when they used some alternate legal entity to claim the prize.
Of course if the lottery isn't going to require that at least one real person in the LLC to be identified

Thank you for contacting my office to express your support for increasing the transparency of the Wisconsin lottery system. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me on this issue.
In response to your inquiry, I contacted the Department of Revenue to request information regarding the security and transparency of the Wisconsin lottery. I copied the Department s response below.

Georgia bill would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous — for a price
The Georgia Senate's higher education committee voted in favor Tuesday of allowing a bill to move forward that would allow lottery winners to remain anonymous but they would have to pay for that privacy.
Senate Minority Leader Steve Henson, the lead sponsor of Senate Bill 331, said the legislation is aimed at protecting multi-million dollar lottery winners from scam artists and other criminals.
It could put you at risk, Henson said during Tuesday's committee meeting.
Henson said eight

Arizona Lottery director not embarrassed about computerized drawing fiasco
Not surprised AZ Lottery is going on as usual. However, I'm a bit surprised that the AZ Lottery director has such a lackadaisical attitude regarding the situation. As if it's no big deal, RNG glitches happen. Not reassuring at all.
One would have thought with the Hot Lotto scandal that lotteries would be switching away from RNG, but most aren't. I believe it's for two main reasons:
Most players will play, regardless. No legislation requiring ball draw.
What makes matters worse is most

Illinois Lottery to again delay large payouts due to budget woes
Powerball and Mega Millions going bye-bye too
Illinois Lottery players should prepare for a bit of deja vu with a twist if Illinois leaders don't pass a budget by Friday night.
Not only will the popular Powerball and Mega Millions tickets be off the shelf, but also any big winners of any of the other draw or instant games will have to wait to collect their cash.
The Illinois Lottery announced Tuesday that, without a budget or any special legislation, it won't be able to pay anyone winni

Keno lottery games coming to North Carolina this fall
Sorry to say, but nothing good will come of this here. It will likely be rigged just like all of the other draw games in this state. They are getting entirely too greedy and this is why i am about ready to call it quits playing in NC for good. SC is 30 mins away and I can ALWAYS win when I have the time to go down there.
This statement is a joke..........
Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper and Senate Republicans this month proposed using lottery funds for school construction and pay raises for pr
