TN players beware...
A new $20 scratch off is coming... Millionaire Club or whatever... Just log on to the website and I'm sure you'll see more than enough about it. I've not been impressed with TN's $20 scratch offs thus far. Now, I do like the top prize (likely annuity); however, TN's odds for $20 scratch offs have been HORRIBLE. Some $5 tickets have been odds of winning that the $20. (i.e Sapphire Blue 7's $5 has overall odds of 1:3.07 whereas winter loser land had 1:3.25) Again, remember, millions of tickets are

Florida Lottery Question
Hi guys! I'm new to the forum and have always wanted to know something about the Fl lottery. Do you know how the state guarantees the funds for those people that choose to take the 30 yr annuity payments? Do you know if its a specific type of federal bond? Thanks!!

18.4 MILLION Michigan Classic Lotto 47 Jackpot!!
I don't know exactly on the cash option, but it will be worse than the Mega percentage. Mega is a 26 year annuity and Classic Lotto is a 30 year deal, they say roughly half but I bet it's probably nearly exactly half. But on the upside you can be anonymous and win it. Hope you get it if I don't.

everyone wants a lump sum but
GamerMom What people here have already said, plus know this- such compnaies exist on the premise that they are looking for people with annuities (any type of annuity, including even some pensions) who want it all now, and this are willing to take less for them. Less meaning cents on the dollar, the amount of cents is whatever they feel they can size the people up for.

I said they DO NOT do this for charity, hence they will take ALL they can from you. Also, did you know that in florida if you play the extra $1 or $2 dollar jackpot increase plays you can then take either the base amount and the bonus as separate prizes meaning you can take the base amount as an annuity and the bonus a lump sum, or vice versa or both.

No, the lump sum is based on current annuity values. The MegaMoney is a 20 year payout and has recently been paying about 77-78% of the jackpot. The Lotto is a 30 year payout and has been paying about 70%. Still, even with federal income tax (no FL state tax) the most you'll pay, unless there is a tax increase, is 35% and you'll have deductions. So I figure you'd clear about $3M. Anyway, you are the owner of the ticket and have to pay the taxes on the entire amount, whether or not you sell it.

CT Classic Lotto 1/2/09
I believe that the jackpot annuity for this drawing was advertised as $1,700,000, and I just saw a page on LotteryPost that confirms this [ https://www.lotterypost.com/results/ct ]. However, when I click on the link for the winning combination at ctlottery.org [ http://www.ctlottery.org/data/01022009-cllotto.htm ] it indicates there was just one winning ticket and a prize of approximately $867,000. Have we been lied to somewhere along the way , or has something been misreported?

Ohio Classic Lotto Cash Option
I sent an email to them and asked how they expect a 50% cash option to double in their annuity time frame with today's interest rates. I just don't see how they could get that return. Unless they invest in a different way then US Treasuries but that doesn't seem right. Still no response. Brad

What to do with $500,000?
I just bought a FLorida Raffle ticket and the prize is $1,000,000. With all the taxes and stuff, I assume the prize would be $500,000 unless I do the annuity where I get the full amount in twenty-years. What do I do with the $500,000 so I can live off of the interest? PLease don't say CD's or Stock market.
