Yea, years ago I remember hearing a minister talking in the booth next to ours at a restaurant. I think the other person was a contractor or banker as he was talking about the 'housing allowance' he is given. The allowance went up by $500 a month, I think it went to like $4500 a month. His current home has been 'maxed out' and he needs to buy/build a new home or else he would lose out on the increase on the allowance. Disgusting!

My thoughts on the lotteryReply
I think the real consideration is if someone is playing the lottery as entertainment with the hope of winning versus someone playing the lottery in desperation as a last hope. If someone plays for the latter reasoning then they should not be playing because it will only deepen regression and increase depression. Remember play is defined as; engage in activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose.

With the recent PB win in spite of its higher odds, players are learning jackpots can be won any time and if they are waiting for that half billion dollars jackpot to buy a ticket they may have a long wait.

Winning a jackpot should reduce stress, not increase it. Running a business is very stressful. Better to invest in the market and small ventures run by other people and in something that you know about. You are still contributing to the creation of jobs and hopefully see a monetary return but without the headaches or a financial drain. Running yourself ragged because you always wanted to have your own [fill in the blank] is dumb.

With MM sales sales of 24,553,569 and PB sales of 16,375,707 in their last drawing and without a huge increase in sales, there is only about a 10% chance of one MM winner. And PB chances are much lower.
