Why you might go bankrupt if your next-door neighbor wins the lottery
The analysis only contained postal codes with 13 households? That's pretty small isn't it?
No, the analysis contained all Canadian neighborhoods, divided up by postal code. Each Canadian postal code, on average, contains about 13 households. The methodology was to compare bankruptcy rates in each winner's postal code (i.e. the winner's immediate neighbors) with the rates in nearby postal codes, where people's general economic status is about the same, but they aren't quite so physically close

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Interesting.
Do you know anything about the Lucky $200,000 A Year For Life game? I haven't seen this $20 game at most places, and apparently there's still 4 jackpots remaining.

How much do you all spend on lotteries?
Depending on if anyone has the numbers I think comes out I will play $20 worth on the big jackpots. Instant tickets I will play maybe in a month $3 ticket or $5 ticket.
You're right hours later and no one else wants to admit.

First lawsuit in state lottery-fixing scandal seeks millions
I too believe they are going to be hit with a lot of lawsuits. I'm waiting for them to be hit with either a class action suit or a civil suit, that represents the Iowa every day players. This is going to get very interesting. Tipton his friends won jackpots . Top prizes over time again again. Which means the Iowa's every day players get rip- off again again. This lottery integrity when down the drain the minute this story became national news. Every day players should been real salty about this.

First lawsuit in state lottery-fixing scandal seeks millions
I doubt if this suit will be successful since players are playing for the estimated jackpots posted before each drawings, not for a jackpot that might have been had it rolled during an earlier drawing.
The fact that an earlier win wasn't or couldn't be claimed doesn't change that fact.

First lawsuit in state lottery-fixing scandal seeks millions
Here's a short quiz for you:
Did this particular drawing result in an unclaimed jackpot? Is there any way in which this drawing was different than the drawings that have result in unclaimed jackpots?

First lawsuit in state lottery-fixing scandal seeks millions
It was one of those feel-good moments that lotteries love to promote when Lucky Larry Dawson smiled as he claimed a $9 million jackpot, surrounded by kids and grandkids. But five years later, the Iowa man could become a key player in a barrage of litigation that threatens to cost state lotteries tens of millions of dollars in damages in an insider jackpot-rigging scandal.
A Des Moines law firm filed a lawsuit Wednesday on Dawson's behalf seeking to declare that his Hot Lotto jackpot in May 20

Michigan man wins second lottery jackpot
I'm sure many do. I'd be oh so happy to have won just one of those jackpots. Goodbye mortgage and that stupid FEMA/VA requirement that I have flood insurance.
Congratulations on your double winnings.

...The Very First Filter Can Make or Break You
Filters are the killers of jackpots, the problem is that any reduction method we use can be considered a filter.

Unclaimed Tickets
Are you sure it was users that tossed them? I have seen the lottery end games and burn the remaining, with jackpots left. I don't know how Massachusetts does it, but at least in PA we have the barcode to self check. I self check 99% of my tickets cause I have missed winners before. Too easy to be in the Lottery sucks and I lost mindset and totally miss a winning #. I think the lottery does it on purpose in hopes they don't have to payout. Alot of close #'s that can get you cross eyed.
