Powerball lottery jackpot reaches $250 million
Quote: Originally posted by dvdiva on February 9, 2006I'll wait until it hits 365 myself. You're going to have to wait at least 2 months or so in that case. I'm calling for 3 more rolls to 387 before I take it with a single ticket. That will be just enough to reclaim the US record from Megamillions. I'd hold out for 437, but the chances of 5 rolls are only about 1%, and that's just too improbable.

Maryland Lottery breaks weekly sales record
The Maryland Lottery broke several records last week bringing in nearly $35 million in sales.............. Pick4 had a record breaking sales week of almost $5 million............ We will never know when these records are broken,( if indeed they are), since Maryland doesn't show a daily payout on it's Official site. litebets

the future of mega millions and powerball
The only thing that's a rip off about the games is the annuity. I have a feeling that at some point these backloaded annuities will either go away or get much worse. At some point it might go to 40 years and have to have an asterix next to the number claiming it's for 2046 (or whatever year it is +40) dollars to account for all the inflation that will eat away at what you actually win. I also don't know if a change in the odds is needed for a high rollover. Both the Canada 6/49 and Euromilli

Are cold numbers a loosing stratagy?
I have to admit I didn't do any analysis of the cold numbers. 9 hadn't come up as a lucky star and was approaching the record number of drawings between the times it has shown up. It just seemed like a good idea to try and cover one of the lucky numbers so if it did come up it would increase my odds for my tickets winning. I think next time I will try to calculate a mean number they occur and go from there. It's just that when jackpots get big you just want to try something to boost your odds

Is the Lottery (PB/MM) corrupt?
Since I've been such a vocal critic of the Hoosier Lottery I'll state for the record that while I absolutely believe the Hoosier Lottery is rigged (and I too have stopped playing all of their games) I absolutely believe that Powerball is on the up and up. I still play Powerball in Indiana because it is not under the control of the Hoosier Lottery. I do have some issues with Powerball...mostly their ridiculous odds, their back loaded annuity and the phony way they advertise jackpot values...but

Is the Lottery (PB/MM) corrupt?
I'm ok with MM and PB and any ball-drawn game. I have my doubts when it comes to computer-drawn games like PA mid-day 3/4. ball draw games in PA are televised, there is a witness and an accounting firm cpu draws are done in private on a computer where even an expert witness would be hard pressed to see the mechanics, then they are fed into the animation program that produces the watch the midday draw link on the PA website. The potential for abuse in a state that has a checkered past wi

New Lottery Post Wheels for Pick 5?
CalifDude - I created my own system for choosing the numbers over a 10 year period. The way I determine which numbers to wheel is very simple. I divide the total drawing pool into two groups, the Upper Tier Group composed of the most active numbers, and the Lower Tier Group composed of the least active numbers. I then created a method to track and record the activity of the drawn numbers, and eventually, discovered a veiled activity at work within the lottery pool. I determine which numbers to b

Woman 'hiding lottery win from husband'
I have always wondered why people always start throwing the Bible around so easily when they get their butt into tight spots for? Is it because they have no other Valid thoughts for a comeback to someone else's view point that have undeniable merit to them? That must be the reason behind it, but who knows why they do it for. So, in all fairness, lets give the bible thumper a chance to validate their reason for being here! So, I ask this one question of the one person who is throwing the bibl

Powerball lottery sales, starting this morning, going smoothly
I'm sorry but I just don't undersand that attitude. And I don't understand the obsession with record jackpots. I'd be thrilled to win a paltry $15 million jackpot anyday. I'd take the less than 50% cash value they're now offering and say adios muchachos to the world! In the vernacular of the 80s, RIGHT ON, BROTHER! (or was that the 70s? 60s?...it's all a blurr) I used to hope Florida would get PB or MM, but I spend enough on the State games as it is. Tonight Lotto is $35 million. Average lu

Lottery winner pleads innocent to ID theft, fraud charges
Wow! talk about a mess !! I've got a few questionsIf she was able to keep the credit card for more than a year and the card was in good standing, that means the bill had to be paid right? Soooo, if she was paying back the things that were charged, is it really theft???If she could prove she was paying the bill and the bill showed payment for the lottery ticket, then doesn't that still make it her ticket legally?? If the bill wasn't paid and thereby rendering the use of the card for the ticket a
