What's your new Jackpot excitement level?
If players want a large jackpot, the can create one on any drawing. Had players bet the same $1,270,206,274 they bet on the $1.5 billion jackpot last night, the jackpot would be $632.1 million. It's ticket sales that produces the large jackpots and with all the what if's included, one winning ticket last night would be worth more than each winning ticket from the record jackpot.

More state lotteries adding "win for life" games
I also love the steady income every year, and you will avoid worldwide exposure also. Most don't realize just how much money $250,000 plus a year is. It is A LOT especially if you just have a normal house paid off and do not blow a lot of money. Also plenty of money to keep playing larger jackpots if you want to. Taxes are also lower because you are not in the top bracket like with a PB or MM win. But you also have a lot more money anyway.

More state lotteries adding "win for life" games
not a good game for people over 40. 2.00 price tag and bad odds. sounds good but people on here only want 200 million jackpots or won't play anything. so not for them. good game if you don't want to garner attention and be hounded by people. but tax bite knocks off about 40% of take. problem is most lottery players are over 50. there is a cash option, but better to chase your state lotto when it hits 1m or more.

Unclaimed £33m UK Lotto winner!
The lack of tax on lottery prizes does take one thing off the table you need to plan for, but certainly is not the only thing. There are many people in the UK who blow through their winnings in spectacular fashion. I think if they planned better they wouldn't. It happens in the US also -- by people who don't plan. Those who DO plan typically don't blow it all. So I will double-down on thinking it's strange that people claim their jackpots instantly in the UK.

Georgia Fantasy 5
I play that often but am testing some new theories. I have yet to hit 5/5. I can match 4/5 but that 5 match I am working on. It is coming :). That being said I am really annoyed that the jackpot isn't growing. At 150k today but it seems like someone has been hitting every other day. What Happened to the million dollar jackpots we were seeing last month? Lol

Lottery officials say identifying winners a must
I'm all for anonymous claiming of jackpots but not state funded extortion like that. It's not extortion. They're simply letting you voluntarily pay them for their loss of marketing opportunity if they can't use your identity to promote the lottery. I think they're charging more than the loss justifies, but there's a logical argument for the concept.

Powerball reaching record jackpots due to the odds just got harder?
There was a winner 9 draws after they changed the matrix last year. Then the big run. So it's hard to tell how often we'll see billion dollar jackpots. I'm sure there will be more, but....how often???

Powerball reaching record jackpots due to the odds just got harder?
MM needs to stay the same as I play that more because it is a dollar and better odds. I would just not play both games even less if they changed it, especially the price. I would stick to smaller jackpot games. I like to play MM until the PB gets so astronomically high that I feel it is then worth spending $2.00. Why not just add 50 more white balls and 20 more red balls then and get trillion dollar jackpots? Would just get even more ridiculous.

Tennessee couple claims share of $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot
Congratulations to them. That's the problem with winning these big jackpots. The cameras, press and media won't leave you alone. How annoying!!!

Neural Net Lottery Picker
Has there been any thought to applying NN to scratch off games? My thoughts are that lotto games are random drawings of balls, whereas scratch off jackpot tickets have to be controlled by the lottery in some way to make sure the same retailer is not getting the jackpot tickets. The lottery has to know where all of the jackpot tickets are going to be placed in advance. By tracking the retailer location of the previous jackpot tickets we might to be able to find out where the future jackpots ticke
