A 10 way-split would be about $5 million after taxes and anyone should be happy with that. That's what state lotteries continue thinking but most players continue to play the multi-state lotteries with odds 20x harder with jackpots 10x larger.

Well doesn't the lottery know whether a top prize was activated in a book? Like some people know what stores get a winner, and some know what book has it, but somehow, ny lottery as a whole will know if some idiot bought and never claimed a ticket. Royal riches I almost threw out a FTY once. It might be ... three others did too for jackpots. Sounds dumb but it could be true.

That's a very sad story ... most people never get that close to actually see their numbers come out ... but it's worse with what happened to you. I count that as both a lottery hit and a lottery miss ... but some rare people have actually hit jackpots more than once in their lifetime ... you might be a candidate for that award. ...

Before MM came to Ohio I would travel to Michigan to get MM tickets when its jackpots were high and Ohioan would buy more tickets than Michigans would but many Ohioan were buying tickets for their friends and co-workers too. I know when friends and former co-workers heard I was making the trip they would give me money to pick up some tickets for them too. If you are interested in how much each state spends on PB and MM tickets, LottoReport publish it after each drawing.

I too am anxious about the new matrix 'building faster jackpots'. Seems like MUSL said this before; only difference I saw was it started @ $40 million and doubled in price. Still I play and go on with life. Well written article Todd. Thank you for not being like the media early this morning 'The winner(s) still have not come forward'. Hello, the lottery headquarters (Lansing?) isn't even open @ that hour. Drives me nuts when they say that.

That should say each State acts as an Agent for the MM PB jackpots , but are responsible for all the secondary prizes won in their state. The other side of the coin are the states offering the multi-jurisdiction Hot Lotto game, but have no other RNG drawings. The Report Card is consistent in the fact four and five minute Keno games are not part of it, but does include games like Five Card Cash that are 100% QPs and though very difficult to do, could have a live drawing.
