6/19-last top prize in Unlucky for Life?
Jarsen- Thank you for bringing to lite the sheer lunacy of the Marylands version of the Match 6 game. As a northern neighbor from your residing state , I sometimes contribute to the md lottery by giving a few plays. After reading that the advertised jackpot is for annuity it dawned on me what a poor payout it really is. Even PA's Match 6 starts out at 500K (cash) not a meagerly 200K like MD does. MD winnings are taxable on all levels...*sigh*
Hopefully MD will revamp its state lottery games..

Wisconsin factory workers win $208M Powerball lottery
MA Megabucks is _still_ annuity only.
chuck32, you should stop hawking annuities, and concentrate on getting more MUSL members to join Hot Lotto.

If you ran a pool...
I run a pool and have 21 people participating. Each of them buys their shares in the pool, so it is not balanced in terms of equity. We have 56 shares , some people owning 1 share, and others owning 10 shares. We have decided to decide on annuity or cash option as a group, with each share getting one vote, unless Powerball allows us to take it on an individual case basis. We love the amount of people in our pool because we all know each other and joke around about how barren the office will b

Wisconsin factory workers win $208M Powerball lottery
I'm from Wisconsin and unfortunatley not one of the winners LOL. Because it's one ticket they all have to decide cash or annuity. I use to drive up to Fond du Lac and buy tickets at that store, but with gas prices the way they are and that place being over 40 miles from home I haven't bought from there in a while. They will get a little over $600,000. after taxes etc. If your like 59 I'd say you could take a chance and retire, but most look pretty young 30's maybe some 20's . I don't think I'

$204 Million: Saturday Powerball Jackpot
Although I doubt he got that in a 30-year annuity.
By the way, there was a winner in Wisconsin. Looks like California has the big jackpot all to itself.

Probability of a MegaMillions rollover.
The MM jackpot has rolled over. The cash value is now $8.6M and the advertised annuity jackpot is $15M.
The average number of tickets sold on a second draw is 15.2M. If this is the number of tickets sold, the distribution of probabilities for various numbers of winners is given as:
091.73%
17.92%
20.34%
30.01%
The long term probability for jackpot evolution as determined by an exponential curve fitted model is as follows:
$541,198,243.99$305,175,67649.2

MegaMillions Test
CASH Only,
I don't know what you hear but if you looked at the post then you should know the test was not about the cash value of a lottery jackpot, besides it failed not me. Ohio in-state annuity doesn't concern me since I only play Rolling Cash5 and MegaMillions. I'll worry about the cash value of a lottery jackpot when I win one.

Ohio looking to replace Lot O' Play
I wonder if PA is planning a replacement game for Unlucky for Life (everyone seems to agree that Match 6 is a stronger game)-PA doesn't do player surveys.
A few years ago Ohio fixed the Super Lotto Plus cash value at 44% of the annuity-if the Mega Millions ratio drops close to 50%, I would expect Ohio to lower the cash value %.

Ohio looking to replace Lot O' Play
No surprise that Ohio is doing this survey. LOP set another record low for a Saturday payout 7/22. LOP started only in October.
The biggest flaw for Super Lotto Plus, LOP, and most likely a replacement game is that Ohio fixes the cash value (for the in-state game, _not_ Mega Millions) at 50% of the annuity, instead of using a floating percentage. Lump-sum winners get stiffed.

lottery
I voted ABSOLUTELY!! I assume this is a real million dollars, not a choice of annuity or lump sum of 50%!! Is it tax free too? It would be tough to give up playing my personal numbers since I haven't changed them in over 12 years, but if that was the deal, I would just stop checking them. What I don't know can't hurt me. I would pay around $250,000 cash for a comfortable home (not here, but somewhere nice) and $25,000 for a new car and still have plenty to live on. I'd still work for group
