At least two charged in scheme to manipulate Connecticut Lottery game
Looks like Vikas Pravnav Smith are in hot water. I'm sure the lottery can revoke their ability to sell lottery tickets, but what crime did they commit? They took advantage of a flaw in the system to cancel tickets that were losers. Did the state legislature actually write a law making that illegal? I'm going to take a leap of faith and assume that the lottery didn't even think it was possible to find out whether a ticket was a winner or loser before it was issued. They didn't cancel t

N.C. Powerball winner target of $10M lawsuit by local pastor
I think it is pretty unlikely that a judge will uphold this creep's claims. A 1.5mil commitment typically needs a written contract. This is not like two people who have a long-term relationship such as common law spouses. This guy, who recorded the conversation, is clearly a leech, and another $8.5 in emotional distress? I'm sure even God raised an eyebrow on that one. Also if the foundation was still being formed, then it did not have a Board of Directors yet, who would be the ones to make the

Former Anchorage mayor is pushing for an Alaska state lottery
They could just join Washington. Years ago before Luxemburg hat their own lottery they had a contract with the German lottery and sold tickets for that. A lotto revenue split between AK and WA shouldn't be too complicated, given it's all traceable.

Does this hold weight in court?
I'd say no provided you didn't give them credit for their assistance in helping you win. ie: I owe it all to them and their lucky birthday numbers without which I could never have won. Falls into the same category as telling everyone at the bar you will buy them new cars of their choice when you win Powerball. There is still such a thing as a verbal contract before witnesses. Not that I'm a legal beagle, that's my opinion, who knows I could be right. BobP

Are you ready for the attention?
Okay you two. Obviously an official referee is in order. Though the task will obviously involve quite some time, possibly even a decade or two, I will reluctantly offer up my services (for a minor fee of $100,000 per year, with a contract satisfaction clause of $1 million dollars, and a buyout factor of 110% of remaining pre-negotiated compensation agreements, travel expenses extra). It is important a satisfactory resolution agreeable to both parties be at hand, and I will observe to the best of

Lottery system 99% effective legal matters question
You sound sane. I don't see any way to enlighten you. Our worlds are different. You live in a cabin in the woods eating cold fish in Portugal obsessing over Megyn Kelly's boobs. I live in Texas in a house with a garden outside and a dog named Jacob. If I want to see boobs I go to Taco Bell. By the way, where are you going to get the money to play for this contract when you can't afford to play the lottery? Asking advice, being given advice and then getting upset the advice isn't what yo

Lottery system 99% effective legal matters question
Destiny was offering you truth in nutshell. Cut and dried, no BS, straight talk. 5 months, 9 months, 2 years....it doesn't make a difference. You're talking to people who have 15-20+ years experience working on lottery. Why is anyone supposed to believe you have it solved? Same with your idea of a contract. Even if they look at the idea, say it is worthless, but win, or if anyone they know wins, you want to be paid. Think about it. It does sound like a scam. A person rejects your system

Lottery system 99% effective legal matters question
What is reasonable to you is not reasonable to someone who is putting up $50000 a drawing. Who is covering his losses if you lose? Do you really expect someone to hand you that kind of money to walk out and buy lottery tickets on your word? I already see inconsistencies in what you say here and at the other place. There you claim 24 years old. Here, you say 22. There you say you can get the odds to 1:50000 or 1:10000 with the parenthesis addon (I just make this up, but I can seriously r

Which LP members would you split any jackpot with?
Since some posters expressed concerns a splitee might consider this a contract.... couldn't the definition of split be argued? Splitting doesn't necessarily mean 'in half'.

Illinois lottery winners file class-action lawsuit against state
The only problem is that no lottery game I've seen gives you a definite date of disbursement. It's always phrased like disbursement of funds are usually within x weeks . It varies and it's ambiguous. Maybe we need the rules of the game and the laws in the state amended so that disbursements must be made within a certain period of time or the state will have to pay interest as well as penalties. When a resident owes the state, fees and penalties are tacked on when payment is late. Why can't the r
