winning ticket for powerball in Neb.
damn!!!!! thats a third of the winning.....still a big amount of money and many dreams can be achieve with that but as i was saying on another thread........... has anyone ever tried to sell the ticket to a highest bidder for a better fee than the one offered by the lottery and then the lucky bidder would claim the ticket with the annuity for a 30yr profit? i guess even if it happened before, we will never know!!!

Powerball lottery jackpot hits record $365 million
FYI according to Nebraska's web site they have 60 days to decide between lump sum (DING! DING! DING!) or annuity (BUZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!). Congratulations to the winner, and please - do not want to be like Jack....

Waiting for the draw
I just got back from Milford Pennsylvania. NEVER saw lines anywhere in that town, before today. Even the Turkey Hill had lines. Took me 45 minutes. Every one was wanting the $365M. No one appeared to know the difference between annuity and cash; they just wanted to win. Every one I could see was spending atleast one hundred dollars. The guy in front of me spent three hundred. None bought Powerplay. I had to explain to a small goup what Powerplay was. Against my better judgement, I used

The Megamillions has rolled again, with an annuity jackpot of $170M. I will update the probability thread sometime this weekend to reflect the new numbers

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The powerball jackpot has rolled. The cash value is now $177.3M; the annuity value is $365M. The last annuity jackpot to reach the cap sold about 165.7M in tickets. If the value were the same now, this would represent the probability of various numbers of winners: 032.17% 136.49% 220.69% 37.82% 42.22% 50.50% 60.10% 70.02% Any guess about what would happen in another rollover would be pure speculation. That would be new territory with no history.

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The powerball jackpot has rolled. The cash value is now $145.7M; the annuity value is $300M. The $300M annuity jackpot last time out sold about 93.7M in tickets. If the value were the same now, this would represent the probability of various numbers of winners: 052.66% 133.77% 210.83% 32.31% 40.37% 50.05% 60.01% There is about a 17% of two rolls before a winner.

Questions on CA SLP
The ANNUITY option is the wrong choice. To clarify the thread, SLP is 26 _graduated_ payments; MM is 26 equal installments.

Ohio LOP-end of game?
Grass: I hope you also hate PA Unlucky for Life. At least LOP has a cash option (although a lump-sum winner gets a lower percentage of the annuity than in Mega Millions, even though each game is 26 annual payments).

Lottery Post member turns up the heat on the Hoosier Lottery
After a few days I've decided to add my 2 cents to this thread. Sorry if it's a bit long. First kudos to Jim for his efforts. (By the way...how did they cut the numbers off the bottom of that mug shot?) (IMHO) Jim is entirely correct with regard to Ms Schneider's intentions. (Again IMHO) She has no intention of reforming the Hoosier Lottery which she herself admits needs reforming. She has every intention of mounting a public relations campaign aimed at (1) making it seem the H
