That $40 million was at some point, a record breaking amount, now it's a starting off point. 30 years from now will people consider $600 million jackpots blas ? I have no doubt that will be the case. It's 2014 and there are already some people who consider any jackpot under $200 million unimpressive. I'm not one of these people.

States added PB and MM to attract more players to their games and PB's $2+ price and high odds does make the local games with better odds and prices with smaller jackpots look more attractive. When PB jackpot exceeds $200M its snowball chance in H* of winning doesn't matters as much and many more players will take a chance for $2.

I tried KEN SILVER'S lotto SYSTEM but have many questions still remaining. He actually admits that majority of his users play below the required number of tickets and they don't use his whole system correctly either just parts and part time. I'll play it more after the matrix change because there should be larger jackpots. The matrix needed to be changed because it was way too easy for some to win they recognized that. Too many winners will bankrupt Powerball.

Yep, TheGameGrl, all the other states are guilty of this misleading practice too! It's a shame that when we go to determine at these lottery headquarter's website it doesn't disclose anything to the effect of 'all jackpots over $1M are annuity values' without actually using the word ANNUITY. However, the scratch-off and online tickets still sell ... so perhaps we gamblers are mainly a stupid or un-calculator, tax brackets driven lot.
