The Connecticut Lottery's newest game is attracting so many players that lottery terminals are slowing or shutting down.
Fast Play, the Lottery's newest instant game, was launched about a month ago. Since then, the game has attracted players across the state and generated about $5 million in sales. In fact, the game has received so much attention, that lottery terminals at retailers and the

Florida Lottery issues last-minute challenge to 'addictive' warning labels on tickets
The Florida Lottery wants another look at the potential impact on education funding from legislation that would require slapping gambling-addiction warning labels on the front of tickets and ads.
Gov. Ron DeSantis is getting closer to deciding whether to approve the bill (HB 629), which passed the House and Senate in early May.
An initial projection about the bill's impact on education funding was made in March. But, appearing this week before state economists, Florida Lottery Director of

Jury rules that estranged brothers must split $1M lottery prize
Over a year of legal bickering ended Wednesday afternoon, but it appeared neither brother feuding over a jackpot lottery ticket was ready to move on and sing Kumbaya together.
After a two-day trial in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, court, a jury decided two Mechanicsburg-area brothers, Charles Thomas Meehan and Ira Sharp, would split a $1 million lottery ticket straight down the middle.
Sharp sued Meehan, his half-brother, for half of the prize he said they won together at Johnny Joe's b

'Miracle' lottery win to let man visit gravely ill nephew, 7
Conrad Selle's sister in France called Sunday with bad news: If he wants to see his 7-year-old nephew, who is losing a hard-fought battle with leukemia, he should come now.
It was weighing on my heart, said the computer systems analyst who still is recovering from being out of work until March. I had no way to pay for it.
Then, that night, he won $10,000 in the lottery.
Thanks to what he said must be a providential thing, Selle and his son, Lucas, 15, will leave Monday for Paris. Beyo

Arkansas Lottery vending machines coming soon
The Arkansas Lottery Commission approved rules Thursday for use of 100 vending machines in retail outlets, though opponents vowed to continue to try to have the machines declared illegal.
Lottery players could find the machines in stores as soon as next month.
The commission conducted a public hearing before the vote and listened as 21 of 23 people spoke in opposition to the machines. The panel amended its rules to require government-issued identification in order to buy tickets from the m

Misprinted Kentucky Lottery tickets lead players to mistakenly believe they won
IGT software error dashes players' hopes and excitement
By Kate Northrop
Quite a few Kentucky Lottery players thought they had won big time when they saw matching symbols printed on their Tic Tac Cash Fast Play tickets, but that joy quickly dissipated when they found out that those symbols were not indicators of winning the lottery at all, rather they were a result of a software error.
According to the Kentucky Lottery, a vendor software issue affected some lottery vending machines in O

The local TV star who rigged the lottery
Shortly after 7pm on April 24th, 1980, millions of Pennsylvanians watched intently as a third and final ping-pong ball shot up the tube of a machine on live television.
And there you have it, exclaimed the station's beloved announcer, Nick Perry. Today's Pennsylvania lottery daily number: 6-6-6!
As the cheesy music faded and the lights dimmed, Perry implored lucky ticket holders at home to claim their prizes: If you've got it, come and get it!
What the public didn't know was that Per

unfair practices and odds
Hi !
I have been reading all the posts on the CA scratchers and have been doing some reading.
I think that the practices of most retailers hinders customers from winning. Almost every place I have gone to, has a clerk or owner that watches the sales and wins and losses on the tickets. Whether its a 7-11 or a reg liquor store, there are plenty of tickets that the retailer scratched themselves , most likely finding the larger winning tickets.
I was thrilled about the second chance draws a

First time buying a roll: Tennessee's $3M Mega Cash
I've debated for a few years about buying an entire roll, knowing that a whole roll of tickets would probably have the same dismal results I've had buying singular tickets.
years ago I bought several $20 tickets from a Grocery store vending machine and after sinking almost $200 in it, I figured I should have bought an entire roll.
Many say you typically get 60% back, and from what people have posted here, that seemed to be the case. I figured buying in at $300, if I lose about a 100 or so,
