Cash 5 Math Puzzle
Hi oate, thanks for your gracious reply. I rushed and shot from the hip, just got lucky seeing that set of numbers. I was told back in grade school to watch my carelessness, guess it still gets me sometimes ;) I have seen many puzzles posted that are thought-provoking, so even without a response there is value in them. Remember the Monty Hall problem that caused some stir? Now the question is, pick your own numbers, use quick pick, use the Random site, or use a calculator (I have programs on my

Rigged Lottery
We now know it's possible (Eddie Tipton) to rig future RNG drawings, but maybe more attention should be paid to the quick pick/terminal pick/auto lotto etc. Years ago I read where each terminal was independent, but if that's true why aren't there more multiple jackpot winners or at least more 5 + 0 matches especially when ticket sales near 100 million? Not saying there is a conspiracy, just wondering.

Florida lottery to roll out new game
We've been reading the fine print, http://199.250.30.201/site/jackpotTriplePlay-howToPlay. As far as RNG or Computer Generated Numbers goes: You get to pick 1 line and the government quick picks the other 2 lines in that 3 line (triple play) scheme, Or, go all out and let the government quick pick all 3 lines.

Digit 8 is very due in 1st position on daytime. That bodes well for 865. Did a quick pick today and got 888 on here.....................not impossible 888 could repeat given how long it was out before it hit. Due triples are 5's and 6's watch for those on day. (did another quck pick and got 856 lol).

WHO is going to show you how to win w/ positive R.O.I. Long term
It's the same if you buy just one ticket. If you buy more than one ticket, then, yes, the probability of winning something on one of the lines will be higher if you do self-picks (to avoid duplicates). With Pick 3, this happens with a fairly low number of tickets as you noted. With MM or PB, that would require a much larger number of tickets to run into that problem. 10 or 20 tickets is going to be pretty much the same whether you do self-pick or quick pick for games that have a ridiculously

Likelihood of a MM Winner this drawing?
That's true, but somewhere there are statistics that calculate the probability of a set of numbers being drawn based upon projected sales. That factors in duplicate numbers, and people picking their birthdays or whatever... For example, for the sake of argument let's say there are 63M tickets sold for this drawing. The overall odds being 302M to one, 63M unique sets of numbers would imply that there is about a 20% chance that one of those 63M sets of numbers will be drawn. However, if 63M ticket

Why do people here congratulate potblockers?
I happen to know one of the people in the Wells Fargo group that won the jackpot. So, I sent him your question. Here was his response. (He gave me permission to post.) We are the potblockers??? We could have won the jackpot in an earlier draw. But instead we held off. We held off for 20 consecutive draws giving jjtheprince14 an opportunity to win the jackpot. He kept failing to win it (he obviously does not know how to pick numbers). So we gave up waiting on him and played the correct num

Why the fervor over a winner being a quick pick or self pick?
Probably just pessimism about potential rigging. I don't think it's all too crazy, considering that the lottery has been successfully rigged before and was going on for several years before that guy was caught. But at the same time, I don't think there is enough of any unusual trending to get worked up over just self pick vs quick pick alone. Many people play quick picks, and so quick picks tend to have a much higher representation with winners. This makes sense. Yet, at times when those all-low
