PA 'Unlucky for Life'
Lifetime payments don't bother me, and neither do annuity payments. As long as I don't have to work. But if you win Un -Lucky for Life (as Cash Only calls it), you will indeed still have to work. $36,000/year is paltry at best, and considering the $2 price, it's unacceptable. With the odds, and the price, it should be $100,000/year for life. I like the instant win feature, and if I ever play, that would be why. All in all, it's a poorly executed game. I'm sure PA's profit margins on this game a

OH thinking of replacing Super Lotto Plus
Well, Ohio is thinking about replacing Super Lotto Plus (again). This time, they are trying to go in with a few states (I'm guessing maybe PA, IN, MI, WV, or MD) on a game that would cost $2 (Boo!), but would offer jackpots in excess of $40-50 million (Not bad.). I do like the idea, but not the ticket price. They did not specfy if jackpots would be annuity or lump sum. Any comments?

Which game is worse II
Quote: Originally posted by CASH Only on October 21, 2004Six draws in Unlucky for Life and no lifetime loser since the initial drawing.Well, this game is about as poorly executed as I've ever seen any game executed, and the sales figures prove it. The odds are high, the top payout is a paltry $36,000/year. Oregon pays $16,000 more per year, and the odds are better for the same price. And $2 for just one play?! Ripoff city. I'm equally spread between cash and annuity, but the payout format is not

TN Lottery Games.
a lot of states don't bother with pick 4 games anymore. look at SC's pick 4 sales. they're lucky to have one straight winner in a draw. personally, i like pick 4 games because the payout is really great. i think TN needs either a pick 4 game, or a multi-million dollar annuity (with a cash option) game as well, maybe even lotto south. the problem with newer lotteries is that they are too reliant on multi-state games, and don't bother with their own lotto games because they know already that

Players cross the border for Powerball
Quote: Originally posted by Jake649 on October 08, 2004 My guess is that the $1800 was a group play. Imagine 36 players each contributing $50 each. Now they have a 1 on 67,000 chance of hitting the jackpot and walk away with $6 million (annuity) dollars each.If they played the $50 on their own, they would only have a chance of 1 in 2.4 million of hitting the jackpotGiven the choice, I would go with the group play because I would rather have a good chance to win $6 million than a long shot at $21

Slot Machines
I've seen progressives at McCarron (I've been to LV twice, last in Feb. 2001) - one problem* would be if you hit a big one it might take more time than you have (between flights) for someone to verify the validity of the win (I've nver had the pleasure, but among other things they'll almost certainly have to call in a rep from the slot manufacturer to make sure the computer programs behind the RNG selector haven't been compromised). Also, I think the bigger progressives are mostly annuity, but I

Ohio considering bingo-style lotto game
In addition to a Match 6 clone, the OH Lottery is considering a Lotto 5x5 game that would play like bingo. Players would get 25 numbers in a 5x5 grid for $2, with only 5 selected by the player (or all 25 quick-picked.) The number field is 1-100. Players would win by matching at least 2 numbers in ANY row, column, or either diagonal, but can win only once per ticket. Jackpots would start at $1 million (didn't say if cash, or annuity with cash option). The Kicker add-on game is also being consi

Claiming winnings in a lottery pool
Presently, me and a coworker are doing a Lotto pool together. I checked the claim form for my state and only one person can claim a prize. If we win, one will get stuck with the taxes, and that isn't right. I'm trying to figure out the best way to claim it tax wise if we win.I've seen a few things about getting a Federal Tax ID number and claiming it as an entity, then distributing the winnings between the us, and turning over some to the IRS. The particular game we're playing doesn't have an
