You're correct, I mispoke in my post suggesting the next jackpot would be $462.5 M. The sales projections are what fuels the advertised jackpots, which means whatever MUSL projects for next Tuesday will be added to Friday's current levels if indeed the draw rolls (I will have those numbers Friday afternoon). Yeah, you'd have a bit of an advantage for a while. But knowing greedy bastids at IRS, they might try to close that loophole as jackpots increase nowadays, and add another progressive tier or two to automatic withholdings, like over $10,000,000 lottery win is subject to automatic 39% withholding.(they leave you 0.6% at least...) Uh oh, shouldn't have said that. The NSA is probably watching this site,(via Google) and they share info with the IRS. Don't wanna give them ideas.

Yes, indeed.. Them Powerball numbers were all there you just have to pick the right ones... If, I had Played the Powerball last night I could of had maybe 4 or 5 numbers.. Your timing has to be right also..it was right but I just didn't play all it takes is one good time..Yes those numbers are good for Pick 3 and 4 and any games. They've always been a bit conservative once the jackpots get high, and as slow as sales have been I expect they're being even more conservative. Announcing it as 344 million means they're confident that sales will be enough to reach that. It doen't mean they think that's as high as sales could push it, so 355 to 360 is certainly possible. Of course, you can do your part by running out and buying a few thousand tickets if you want to make it more lkely.

JonD, Time will tell. The previous $189M Mega Millions run was hampered by not one, but two $400M+ Powerball jackpots. The matrix change may help MM catch up, but at the same time will accelerate jackpot fatigue. With fatigue comes sluggish sales and longer rolls, though Powerball has some advantage with a higher price. That's why I don't think the new MM will last and hence, my mentioning of a $5 game (which I know is in the works).

I have no interest in MM anymore but the other day I decided to try it just for the heck of it. So I bought a QP ticket and the numbers were a big joke. Just all over the place. No way I could even come up with a set of numbers like that. And not one number on the ticket matched any of the numbers drawn. I thought it was just ridiculous. I just don't see it worth me playing anymore. Maybe when it reaches an outrageous jackpot I will buy a ticket but it will probably only be on really really real
