As lottery data is resistant to meaningful rigorous statistical analysis, perhaps a heuristic approach could be the next move. If you imagine a stream of draw history as an evolutionary record, you might be able to get a better view of what may trigger that random churn of numbers... those patterns that never hold with the same numbers may still hold if you account for similar pattern shapes with different numbers.
