The Mega Millions lottery set a new 9 roll record of $138 million for the April 4 draw. The previous Mega Millions 9 roll record was $108 million - an increase of $30 million. The Powerball 9 roll record is $117.7 million and was set in the current jackpot run.

The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery game has climbed again past the $100 million mark. None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The jackpot is now at $117 million and the next drawing will be Friday night. There were four second-prize winners from Tuesday's drawing: 1 from California, 1 from New Jersey, and 2 from New York. Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000.

Many people just haven't realized the fact that Mega Millions is now the premier lotto game in the USA. In every metric it has become superior. That doesn't mean that Powerball is not an awesome game (it is). It just means that it has gone from #1 to #2. And the whole Mega Millions started years ago, largely due to the efforts of Rebecca Paul (then with the Georgia Lottery).
