I think you've got a tenuous connection with reality. The most recent jackpot to make it past $1.5 billion (annuity value, of course) was the 10/11/23 PB jackpot that got to $1.765 billion. The cash:annuity ratio for that one was even worse than the current MM jackpot (43.86% vs 44.89%) so that annuity value of 1.765 billion required even fewer tickets to be sold than what we'd need to see the same advertise jackpot today. Dec 31st is possible for sure. You may right. I keep track of ticket sales and the last drawing on Friday, 12/20 statistically covered only 20% of all combinations as 60,000,000 tickets sold. This Tuesday probably 25% to 30% or so will be covered. The record jackpot of $1,602,000,000 last 08/08/2023 had only 50% of the numbers covered so another rollover was very possible at that time.
