Optimum # of Previous Draws... ??
There are almost as many theories on how many past draws to utilize as there are forums on the 'net... my question is this (2 part)...How many past draws should you use for the MUSL Powerball... and why use that many?(the more math in the answer the better :-) )?(p.s. please no negativity from the previous draws are irrelevant contingent or a rehash of the Annuity vs. Cash Debate... Why search for anything other than the winning combo? and I WOULD take the cash ;-) )

emily,i live outside of atlanta like you do. because you technically have to be a nascar race car driver to drive I-285, i don't have a fish symbol on my car. it would be a bad witness driving 75 MPH just to keep up with the flow of traffic (jk-lol).plus if i buy a ferrari, i might have to upgrade to the shark. the aggressive version of the fish symbol(lol).camry's never die. good cars..........................................................sandy,when you said LMAO did you mean laughing my

Mass. 6/42 & 6/49
JYM:All US big jackpot lottery games will continue to advertise the annuity value for the forseeable future, barring (unlikely) federal legislation requiring lotteries to automatically pay winners in lump sum.Mass. (and NY, where I live, to a lesser degree) continues to give in to the greed of companies which sell annuities, which is why those who win the 6/42, 6/49, and many of the Mass. scratch games cannot take the lump sum. (Mass. winners of MM _can_ take the cash, fortunately.)If you live

90-year-old wins Florida Lotto
Quote: Originally posted by ShadyLady on May 30, 2003 It doesn't matter WHERE anyone is from. If they screw up and don't choose CASH,in any state, can't they still set it up like I said, in a TRUST? That is the point I am trying to make. Wouldn't that keep it from going back to the state? You don't need a trust. All state lottery payments to be received after a person's death automatically get assigned to the person's estate. There are tax implications - as I'm sure that Cash Only will remind t

? for ILLINOIS/Big Game (1998-1999)
I seem to remember Illinois jumping the gun and allowing at least one Big Game winner (after the 1998 change in Federal law allowing lotteries to give winners a 60-day window in which to choose cash or annuity) to collect their jackpot prize in lump sum, while it was a 5/50 + 1/25 game. The closest state to me, of the original six BG states, did not allow jackpot winners to choose cash until BG was changed to 5/50 + 1/36 in January 1999.Can anyone verify this for me?Remember that BG/now MM is r

is this a new lottery system?
ugg, just like the cash option vs. annuity ongoing tirade, this arguement has been beat to death, but I'll summarize:EVERY ticket bought has the same odds of winning: 1 in 16 million {or whatever your lottery is odd-wise} Overall you have more chances if you buy more tickets, and that helps you win. But the odds per ticket, which are based on math, doesn't change.I was making a joke about dowjones' math cuz I really wish it worked that way, then you'd have to only buy a certain $ amount and be g

Another CASH vs ANNUITY poll
To illustrate the point take today's lottery as an example.I live in Georgia, so I'll use Georgia's numbers. If I were to take the lump sum and purchase 11 investment properties at $1.3 million apiece, I would generate smaller annuities of $108,000 per property or $1.18M annually, surpassing the annuity by over $200K, annually. Over time, the cashflow generated by the cash settlement would generate over $30 million, beating the annuty by over $6 million, with the real estate (purchased for 14.3 m

PA Super Six tops jackpot list...
smd:Super-6 certainly could have been $1 per play with 58 or 59 balls, whichever 6/x matrix would have been the first with odds higher than the current game (6/69; 3 plays/$1.)KJ had TWO major flaws: 1) the game was always ANNUITY-ONLY, even though cash options were available in most games by the time KJ ended; 2) KJ was a 6+1 game. PA was the only state that relied on the pick-7 idea for such a long time (remember Super-7?)WC Lotto was PA's better game after its cash option began. In retrospect

OH NO!!
They'll take the cash. Because you'll never know, they might not make it through those 30 years. So they might as well take the cash. Plus, you have more control with your money if you take the lump sum. And who knows what the inflation rates will be in 10 years. At least you can fight the inflation with interest rates from Treasury bills and tax-free municipal bonds. If the jackpot was only 10 million or 12 million, then MAYBE...... I would somewhat consider taking annuity. But if the ja
