Ever play MUSL Hot Lotto ?
Some of you may be wondering why I mention this game so much even though I've never played it (although I would if I lived closer to a state that sold it.) Reason #1 is that like MM and Powerball, the number of jurisdictions where it is played can increase. ( Hot Lotto is played in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, South Dakota, and West Virginia; the DC Lottery will be offering it starting in August.) Reason #2 is that it is a better game that the Mass. 6/42 and 6/49, if for no other re

Mega Millions and Powerball Synchronized
I think the Powerball jackpot will continue to climb faster than the Megamillions jackpot helped by the annuity length, but also aided by the fact that the chances of winning a prize is better. When ever I've gone to Indiana to play the Powerball and talked to Ohio players who live near the boarder they say they prefer to play Powerball unless the jackpot of the Megamillion is over 100M. For them both games are available in their travel area, so Powerball get their money most of the time. I s

Suggestion for NEW ENGLAND
Many of you know that Massachusetts (in addition to MM) offers two in-state jackpot games, 6/42 and 6/49, both of which happen to be ANNUITY-ONLY. In the last couple of years, there has been a trend towards replacing single-state jackpot games with second-tier multi-state games ( Lotto South , Hot Lotto .) Other single-state games are hurting (eg Michigan Millions is being replaced next month.) Maybe the MASS 6/49 should be expanded to all six New England states (perhaps Tri-State Megabuck

WINFALL is coming and I'll be waiting
Quote: Originally posted by Bradly_60 on December 26, 2002 I think they should of just had the jackpot at $5 mill all the time. And that is what you would receive after taxes. No annuity. Just $5 mil top prize after taxes. But that just sounds to good.If every drawing had a top prize of $5 Mil, wouldn't the state need to sell $10 Mil+ in tickets to cover the jackpot? Even though MI is a good sized state I doubt that many tickets would be sold. Especially since Mega Millions is offered.

Lottery wish list for 2003
*For NEW YORK to pay Lotto winners more than 40% in prizes, and to give ALL big winners the choice of cash. *For MASS to give 6/42 and 6/49 winners a cash option. *For MAINE to rejoin MUSL (dropped out when PB began). *For PENNSYLVANIA to replace its Super-6 ASAP. *For OHIO to replace its Lotto with a game that is _not_ biased towards annuity winners, and to drop Kicker . *For WISCONSIN to give up its silly CityPicks . *For WASHINGTON STATE to try an _all-number_ Pick-5.

COAL in his stocking! ;)
My vote for this year's Christmastime Bad Role Model of a Lottery Player is the 30-year-old upstate NY man who was introduced to the media yesterday. When he bought his ticket, he chose 26 ANNUAL PAYMENTS . He is _prohibited_ from changing his mind. Therefore, his next 26 Christmases (starting tomorrow) will feature coal in his stocking! I also vote to have the NY Lottery employees (who make the rules for its scratch games) receive coal in THEIR stockings tomorrow. All NY scratch games since

Mass Millions
Rtpas: Welcome to Lottery Post. I presume you mean the 6/49 game instead of Mega Millions. Do you live in New England? I would like to tell you that I would NEVER play the Mass. 6/49 (or 6/42 for that matter) because the jackpot is still ANNUITY-ONLY (no lump sum option.) Mega Millions players _are_ allowed to choose lump sum in all 10 states. Instead of the Mass. 6/42 and 6/49, you might want to consider playing Hot Lotto in New Hampshire, which is played much like Powerball, or Connecticut
