It probably won't make much of a difference but ya never kno
Patrick,I understand and agree however my plans which are kinda specific mate very well to an annuity payout so that's why I play.. At the moment.. Wednesday night's Megabucks drawing is for 5.7 million while Hot Lotto is for 2.1.. while it is sad that Megabucks doesn't pay out in a lump sum option, looking beyond that, the odds are better for hitting Megabucks than Hot Lotto.. btw I did a quick search on Mr Murphy and wasn't able to find anything... you wouldn't happen to have a web site addres

Picking your own numbers(What's up with that?)
Here in New York, the 5/39 TAKE FIVE also has a 2-number prize of an automatic quick-pick. Giving quick-pick free plays is something I generally don't object to. (When you have to PAY to play, certainly you should be able to pick all your numbers.) However, there have been problems with the NY Lotto, including the current I Love NY scratch game. Matching 3 LOTTO symbols wins a Lotto free play that automatically says 26 ANNUAL PAYMENTS ! In April, a 59-year-old retired man hit Lotto this way

CashOnly
you get too tied up dreaming. you act like you are prepared for when the day comes when you win. well face it stop dreaming and come back to the real world. dont act like you know everything. screw shopping for an annuity. if you hit for 500M you could just set it all in a no risk fund and collect a few interest points a year and still make millions in interest a year. screw budgeting 500M, if someone can spend more than 500M in a lifetime there is something wrong with them. and CASHONLY YOU WIL

minor criticism: Mega Millions
IMHO, Massachusetts should drop BOTH its 6/42 and 6/49 games and replace them with a 6/48 game for an unrelated reason: Both the 6/42 and 6/49 are ANNUITY ONLY (of course the 6/48 proposal would have a cash option.) I would expand the 5/35 Mass Cash to at least four drawings per week. As for 1/2 million prizes in pick-5 games, I don't think that's the real purpose of those games. They were invented to give players a better chance of winning the top prize, and, often, they pay better for a less-t

Too much??
Hello All,So do you sometimes think that the jackpot is too high? I personally would have been very happy with winning the Big Game about 3 or 4 drawings ago when the jackpot was decent, but not enough to be a headline..I'm not much of a public person, I have no need for fame, just the fortune :) At this point, having 72 million to play with will mean if I'm lucky enough to win, a larger chunck would go to charity. Even with a few serious shopping sprees there is only so much money ya need, or a

Hello everyone
You all make a good argument about taking the cash option but I am a young single man without any kids or anything and pretty much healthy and God Willingly be live to see the final check so I would take the annuity option because I want all of my money. I just have a problem with giving up $36 million dollars, that is alot of money to throw away, I understand that the lump sum of $29 million is alot of money to put in the bank and gives one a lot of power with the bank but on the opposite end $

Hello everyone
It's rather simple. If I play, don't you think I should be the one who decides how my money is invested should I win (minus withholding, etc)-after all, it's MY money! I respect your opinion and of those who play either game-but I disagree with MA forcing me to receive annuity payments should I win. As for NH Hot Lotto, it starts April 7. Its jackpot will be the same as Powerball-choose AFTER you win, 25 annual payments or lump sum. I mentioned the CT game because I didn't know where in MA you

Big Game Jackpot Analysis
Since Lottery winnings are considered along with normal income it falls under the regular Federal Tax Laws. So if you win a lottery and take the cash amount you are figuring your taxes for that year if earnings (both regular income and lottery income) exceed $302,050.00 you fall into the highest tax bracket for income which is 38.6% under current tax tables. If the lottery earnings are taken at the annuity level you divide the amount by 26. That is the amount you are taxed on for that year. Fede
