The Powerplay Option
I disagree. Your ROI may be higher, but your overall expense per ticket is also greater. If it's .30 and .50 return on the dollar, but you can spend $2 or$3 dollars respectively, the overall cost is larger playing the Powerplay option. And if you play when there are large jackpots only, the EV actually probably get's larger without the powerplay option. I didn't actually do the math to find out - I'm kinda just guessing because I don't wanna do the work right now (and b/c I don't really like to

Winning $217M Powerball ticket sold in Virginia
Ooh, could it be that Jack W. won the jackpot through Virginia again? Dear fellow members, where on USAmega.com does it show past jackpots being won via 'quick pick' or 'self pick' tickets?

$208 MILLION: Massive Powerball jackpot to be drawn Wednesday
It was won in Virgina. I said it wasn't going to roll over. Someone or many folks got extremly lucky last night. I'm postive it probably wasn't Jack. It would great to be one of the lucky few who knows what it feels like to win millions. I don't think the raising it to 2 dollars was worth. Most of the same states that always won in past are still winning most of the jackpots after the price increase.

Biggest lottery game ever in the works?
scrap both MM and PB. I dont like the new $2 PB at all. Create a single national big jackpot lottery, daily, $2, 1:150m, starting $10m. There will be more winners, but lower jackpots. Say $100m/10 winners, $10m is pretty good. No one needs $100m anyway. 2nd place is $1m, thus scrap NY Sweet Million and Pick10; two useless games as it is.

Will Powerball rollover?
Did you noticed both games increased their cash values for this weekend about $6.4M? Since both get 1/3 of sales for their jackpots, MegaMillions sales will have to increase to $19.2M from $18.2M to cover its increase while if PB sales increase from $28.8M it will have an extra $3M over what it needs to cover its increase. The extras are probably being used to make up for the shortests in the past or preparing for them in the future. While PowerBall is charging more for their tickets and sel

Multi-state Wild Card game to change
I saw in one article (maybe on wiki) that the reason for the change was to make the game more attractive in hopes of convincing other states to add it to their stable of products. I'm not sure how I feel about that. On one hand, the jackpots would get higher faster. On the other hand, nobody in Idaho would win anymore.

Newbie has some questions.
Yes, only one winning number set is drawn for all states. Hot Lotto is the only other multi-state that has fairly high jackpots that I'm aware of, but it's only sold in a handful of states and I don't think NY is one of them.
